SMRT 985 bus

the waiting time for this bus is sooooo long takes around 30 - 40 minutes for a single bus to arrive. Id rather go to bukit batok by taking SBST 506 Express even though it costs a little more.
Whats the difference between 985 and 985 W ?? even tho they take the same route. -

985W goes from BB W Av 4, then left turn to BB W Av 7 then right turn into Bukit Batok Rd. This was the old route of 985 before it was rerouted to the current 985. They introduced 985W because people living at Blk 40X Bukit Batok West Av 7 complained about their link to CCK and elsewhere along 985's route. -

its usually the jam it encounters.
thats why theres usually a case of bunchin up.
so 985 and 985W will come together.
on a side note
985's freq is 20-25mins
985W's freq is 20-25mins
that's from the bus stop shelter... -

the 20-25min freq only affect that bt batok part they serve separately.
985 has a freq of 25 mins.
but in that 25 mins, there will be a 985W appearing.
simply cause the buses are on alternate freq. -
at one time when i was going to BBDC for my driving lessons, i took 985W aussuming that the route would be the same in BB...but 985W actually took the old 985 route before admendment and it bypassed BB west ave 5 and i ended up alighting at bt batok rd and then walk to BBDC from there....what i want to say here is that if u wanna go BBDC DUN take 985W, take the normal 985 to get there...

Sv985/985W's frequency can be very good. Peak hour just wait around 10 mins and either one will come or both will come together, just that u wait 20 mins more for another one.

985W is a silly service. It shouldn't be started in the first place.

Actually i think that SMRT should let AMDEP control 985 also , so tht we'll have enough buses. Or can add the SP UDs to 985.

Hey, seems like 985W will be withdrawn. Saw the signs at the bus stop along PIE. Maybe SMRT finally decided its a stupid idea, or maybe its not feasible to have both 985 and 985W with 10 min frequency come 2009.

Bt Batok West ppl at night can wait for 30 mins for 985 -
Hopefully after 985W is withdrawn,The frequencies will be better.

From Choa chu Kang Int - Bt Batok Fire stn / Pavilion park / BBDC / Swiss Cottage Sec - Bt Batok West Ave 2 , there is 188 which is alot faster , 985 goes to TEck Whye Sec there & people who take 985 are mostly from int to teck whye sec , most swiss cottage / st antony's students take 985 & alight at the int.
