profit groth is in terms of dollars and not buying power. the thing that inflation does affect is the costs which appear to be covered alreadyOriginally posted by shade343:Inflation does affect the decision of the company to increase fares. $1 today is not worth $1 in 5 years. As such, to maintain the level of profit growth, the company would have to take into account inflation before increasing the fares.
If the company hadnt proposed fare hikes, its unlikely SMRT will be recording such profits in the first place.
