Areas with poor bus connections..?

let me name one first..
yewtee.. espacially those beyond yewtee mrt station some where near kranji one..
take feeder bus come out around 15min i tink? 302 is the only one.. 15min can only bring u to yewtee mrt station ( if u take train to cityhall lazy lazy way all the way go down to wdl then reach cityhall without changing 50min+ ) if go JE change train at least u need 40min (exculde waiting time that could be 8min to 12min a train ) tis is the case if u goin cityhall
orchard.. u take NSL line direct is 46min to 50min... go je to transfer EWL is no point as u need to transfer many times..
if take bus... we need to at least get to cck int first.. 302 takes at least 20min to reach cck int.. plus waiting time it could take 50 to 70min juz to get to city area with 190..+ the traffic lights at bukit panjang and teckwhye area.. -
Agreed on this. Yew Tee is another place which has poor bus network. To get to another place in CCK for example, I need to take 302 and transfer to 300. So, I have to spend around $1 plus travelling within the town. ??? -
its quite a good idea of yours... yewtee residents can now take these buses to go bb or bp to transfer to another service to go east or town.. but the load factor is going to be HUGE.. how can they cope with it
at very least yewtee shuld at least hav a bus to connect them to bukit panjang to transfer to other smrt services -
The problem with Yew Tee is that it doesn't have a bus interchange, unlike Choa Chu Kang. That is why only feeder buses ply Yew Tee to bring residents to the CCK Int or MRT... I used to stay in the camp there during my NS days and it sure was terrible having only feeder buses...
In the original town planning, the Gahmen should have taken this into consideration and built a town centre at Yew Tee instead of CCK. Or at least the bus interchange if not a town centre. All the services going to the city can at least originate from Yew Tee and pass through CCK en-route to the city.
It would really be good if SMRT can introduce some trunk services to Yew Tee.

we need more buses to city areas, instead of depending on extremely overpacked 190, 960 and the hopeless 700/700A and 171.
And! we need more buses to other towns - north areas (AMK, Toa Payoh) and East areas ( Bedok, Paya Lebar/Aljunied, Pasir Ris), and south area. Less buses to woodlands pls..alr hav 4 buses to woodlands liao. (187, 960, 963, 966) -

I have stated the recommended freq there. It should be the same as 302 since the demand is there from the portion CCK int to CCK Cres. This is to ensure that the waiting times of this svc as compared to svc 302 will be almost similar. However, it also has to depend on the actual demand of the svc from the portion CCK Int to BP Int. Of course, more buses are needed to be deployed then.
If both portions as stated above are high in demand, it is better to merge the three services. If there is only one portion, which I think probably will be from CCK int to CCK Cres, is high in demand, then it is better to retain 302. This svc can still be introduced at a lower freq while the remaining two BP feeder svcs can be withdrawn.
I am thinking that, if there is no BP LRT, probably I feel that this svc will then be good suggestion. -

Agreed. However, it is very hrad to introduce any new bus routes cos firstly, the nearest interchange to the town will perhaps be Toa Payoh Interchange and secondly, the road into Potong Pasir Town is a dead end. This means that buses will normally loop into Potong Pasir and go back to the int. The second nearest will perhaps goes to Serangoon interchange. Sembawang. No feeders at all and the places you can get to via the Interchange is too limited. Most people take 962 then change bus to get their destination

Sembawang...only a few buses around that area.
Should have either services 858, 965 and/or 969 divert into Sembawang town. If possible should have another direct bus service to link between Sembawang and Bt Panjang/CCK. -
