Spot on. How many ingress/egress you can find for Yew Tea area?Originally posted by hiphop2009:i tink yew tee route is a headache for bus companies to plan also. lol.
maybe turn yewtee MRT into a virtual terminal like how the SV42 rest... but the traffic in yewtee is hellOriginally posted by stituss:Spot on. How many ingress/egress you can find for Yew Tea area?
Those leading north leads you to no where.
Those leading south already have two services.
Those leading east... blocked by railway track.
Those leading west... oh wait.. no west-bound road.
Coupled with no bus interchange, it is hard to serve the area effectively. Unless SMRT start their services from Kranji depot, or set up a virtual interchange in Yew Tew area.
U call that a great swap? Let's analysis the swap:Originally posted by stituss:The reason why BB sees less complain is because where SMRT doesn't provide a direct link, SBS buses are willing to serve them. There are a total of 4 services serving the town: 66, 157, 174 & 506. These services are left behind by legacy arising from the 1999 great swap between TIBS and SBS for control over Sengkang/Punggol and Choa Chu Kang/Bt Batok.
It takes me about 2 hrs++ from Jurong Interchange to Hougang South Interchange last time... Really Butt pain lolOriginally posted by patdog112:wa.. 51 sit from NE to JE can sit until butt pain.. i tink its even longer than 67 from east to west![]()
51 from west , south , east , north eastOriginally posted by AsukaShinn:It takes me about 2 hrs++ from Jurong Interchange to Hougang South Interchange last time... Really Butt pain lol
Yeah! it's time for a regime change! Can't wait for the next GE!Originally posted by iveco:Well, he was and has always been incompetent. Every department he headed has been ruined. Anyway, PAP standards have been going down. It is time for regime change.
965 was only intro in 2001. Tibs Holdings was effectively killed off when SMRT bought them over. With SMRT clinching a rail contract in Dubai, they should hive off their bus ops to a neutral player.
Theres no swap. TIBS gave up 82 103 163 820 821 thats all, while SBS gave up those CCK/BB services.Originally posted by AsukaShinn:U call that a great swap? Let's analysis the swap:
Now... do you still call it a great swap?

Due to some red tapes, this aint gonna happen.Originally posted by AsukaShinn:Actually, regarding the Yew Tee area, I was thinking... Why not cre8 a service from Choa Chu Kang Interchange which passes through Mandai Road through the yew tee area? As Mandai Road is quite wulu, the service might not need to stop at every bus stops to pick up passengers. Make the service passes through Mandai Road, then into Upper Thomsom Road. Then we can make it follow the route ply by SBS Transit 138 into Ang Mo Kio, Hougang Central or even SengKang! Bearing in mind that the people in Yew Tee can reach the other side of Singapore [North East] faster then taking MRT!

Yeah, no $hit. Just look at the many bus routes extended into SKG, like 156 & 159. not to mention freeing up more resources from SBS. With less responsibilities, BBDEP could move some buses to HGDEP to serve on newly-created routes originating from SKG/PGL.Originally posted by sBs_boy:It may seems that it was an unfair treatment that SBS had to give up so many service to TIBS. But if you see closely, SBS is the one actually gaining from this swap.
Actually, BPLRT is a white elephant no matter what you think of it. It would have been better for a spur line to be built from CCK to BPJ back then, to connect with the future BTL.Originally posted by off_service:Maybe the LRT should have gone Yew Tee instead.
gimme a five i have posted the same suggestion as u long time ago...Originally posted by SBS9889U:Maybe SMRT could amend Sv925 to ply Yew Tee area before going to Sungei Kadut.
Still, 925's frequency is hopeless....Originally posted by SBS9889U:Maybe SMRT could amend Sv925 to ply Yew Tee area before going to Sungei Kadut.
good.. yewtee ppl can go wdl road and take 160 , 170 , 960 to go other placesOriginally posted by kengkia:gimme a five i have posted the same suggestion as u long time ago...![]()
the most they can go with these three svcs is J.E,woodlands, outside of Bt batok town(Bt batok rd),JB,and bugis only....those unmentioned svcs along wdls rd do not go orchard or east side and 171 bus stop(upper bt timah rd) is quite a distance from yew teeOriginally posted by patdog112:good.. yewtee ppl can go wdl road and take 160 , 170 , 960 to go other places
961 to Geylang. Can be considered as east.Originally posted by kengkia:the most they can go with these three svcs is J.E,woodlands, outside of Bt batok town(Bt batok rd),JB,and bugis only....those unmentioned svcs along wdls rd do not go orchard or east side and 171 bus stop(upper bt timah rd) is quite a distance from yew tee
Contrary to what you see, BTL will increase BPLRT ridership so much so that it can't cope with the demand. Just wait and see.Originally posted by iveco:From what I see, the BTL has the capacity to render the BPLRT useless next time.
960 would be the most useful for them...Originally posted by kengkia:the most they can go with these three svcs is J.E,woodlands, outside of Bt batok town(Bt batok rd),JB,and bugis only....those unmentioned svcs along wdls rd do not go orchard or east side and 171 bus stop(upper bt timah rd) is quite a distance from yew tee
Too bad 960 will most likely to be victim of BTL bus rationalisation. My guess it'll be shorten to ply between Woodlands and Bt Panjang Interchange only.Originally posted by patdog112:960 would be the most useful for them...
can take it to after PIE to transfer other buses..
I think they have to keep a service (or at least at the bus company's discretion) to have a backbone service to a MRT line.Originally posted by patdog112:what abt 190..? cck to bp? wad rubbish sia
