From late last year they deployed UDs on 980 and 981. Well, TIB1248D, my regular 178 bus home had a flooring problem.

not surprising lots of people are unhappy with the presense of UDs. I think SMRT should try to further "isolate" these buses to the more unpopular or industrial routes instead of deploying them on for eg 187, 980 esp.
IMO i suggest redeploying them to svc 852, 856 (to replace the scanias), 925, scatter onto various feeder bus routes (average 1 UD per feeder route), etc.
best is to scatter them around and avoid high concentration of UDs on a particular route. -
till tis date i still dont know what the HELL is wrong wif UD nissan.. are they really so old?!!!!!!!!!!

Other than service 980 along Upper Thomson, service 855 also do have a number of Nissan cameos today too (TIB365E, TIB377X and one more CAC one I think
) -
Service 980 have only 1 OAC Nissan UD most of the time (CSS183U perm on S-Shift) and it is not so common at times as compared to services 178, 187, 853, 975 and 981. For me Elbos are much better in terms that it is a zero step bus with wider doors. Whereas the Nissan UD buses have very narrow doors and steep steps made of metal which can potentially become a hazard during rainy days.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:But i prefer to take ELBOs.

Well, one big hurdle for me while i'm just a kid was that I could not sit in front of the Elbos, which are still NAC at that time because it's front seating arrangement is too high and windows are not to my head level. The SBS B10Ms are equally steep as the Nissans.
