As i gather, sv16 was extended to Bedok Interchange:
1. to cover part of CSS608 route
2. too much bus bunching on the return to Bukit Merah Int
3. Release partial fleet for BBDEP/ARBP for departed MKIIs, as mentioned earlier by Kengkia, the scanias will come in bear in mind that BNDEP has lots of Scanias as SP role... -

hgdep cannot give buses to bbdep as they themselves got their own mk2 to worry about. Means its unlikely merc will be in bbdep anytime soon...
I hope the Scania NACs will stablise once S16 is extended.. -
Also, AMDEP have a lot of SP Merc already... could easily give out. Obvious choice would have been Volvos to BNDEP. So even without those MK4-DMs, 70, 124 & 186 would not be affected much. So is there anyone going to joyride on the amended Service 16 this Sunday?
I may be one of the first to go catch a glimpse of the amended Service 16 in Bedok Interchange (morning, if possible, around 5 a.m.), but I cannot ride the full route to Bukit Merah. I'd rather wait until around Mid-October to December then, because I cannot be going joyriding anytime I like. -
SBS 891X,SBS 902Z,SBS 913S, SBS 919B,SBS 922R, SBS 930S, SBS 937Z, SBS 965S, SBS 967L, SBS 970B, SBS 976K, SBS 977H, SBS 983P, my fav SBS 988B are from BNDEP to AMDEP. SBS 990T is from BNDEP to BRBP. SBS 900D, SBS 901B,SBS 914P and SBS 975M were from BNDEP to AMDEP then back to BNDEP again. i WILL try to get the full sv16 fleet on sunday... Folks as ev1 is speculating, i tink the new Scanias are ready? wouldnt it not be deployed on sv16? remember Volvo B10M MK IV[DM] initial fleet allocation from 882Y to 901B was to sv16? -

It will probably be a total handover from arbp to bndep just like Service 159 from amdep to hgdep..this time is for bbdep/arbp to replace their Mark IIs... thats why bndep has been getting so many SP buses lately

Yes, 16 is now the successor of Service 608.
At least, this will please concert fans living in Bedok, at least they themselves got connected to better routes after concerts. And best thing is, Scanias or possibly DMs would make an appearence on this service. There's used to be Scanias on old service 16 to Changi Airport. -
