In the first place, it's already widely known that current buses won't be refurbished to be a WAB. SBS Transit have announced, the fleet will be completely WAB in 2023, that is when the last of the B10TLs/CNGs leave the fleet!

ok here's the thing.
it CAN BE DONE!
is just whether SBS they workshop want to tear apart the bus or not. once tear apart can fit he strengthening n then the ramp etc etc. but of course costs a lot like mad.
is actually not as simple as orh. dig a hole then fit he ramp in because standee area wor...like can fit the PIW. . cannot lar . bus will collapse due to uneven cg or weakened parts. ideal method is rebuild the entire deck area.
investment high but worth the conversion

in theory it is possible, but i highly doubt it will be cost effective. and IF SBST really wants to do it they would most probably do it together with mid-life refurbishment, so don't expect to see it soon, or even to see it at all.Originally posted by ZYX2005:ok here's the thing.

I beg to differ. It is not worth the conversion (at least at this point of time), unless SBST pass on the cost to the PIW. Besides how many more PIWs can it serve? I am seething with frustration over the 1 to 2 cents increase in bus fares. Suppose they carry this out and use it as another excuse to raise fares...then it's not fair to the the majority who do not use the facility.
