Bendy deployments on sv 980 during weekends/public holidays

SMRT usually have 2-3 bendies on sv 980 on most of the Sundays, however 2day only spotted 1 bendy on sv 980 plying along Upp Thomson.
When I travel towards the north to Yishun I notice tat 4-5 bendies are on sv 169 instead of sv 980.
Wat is really happening to SMRT??? Why SMRT rather put more bendies on a sv 169 which is low demand on Sundays??? Whereas sv 980 needs more bendies due to high demand

plus 169 already hav 4 perm bendy, if got 5, then the other one most probably cameo or x-over frm other svc. if u onli saw one bendy on 980, then most probably the other one is at some other places. maybe in town

TS should be referring to TIB1072T which is the only bendy seen on service 980 today.
In fact, service 169 even though have many perm bendies on weekdays however most of them according to driver's duty roster at WRI canteen they are under "OFF" on Sundays, which means these bendies don't operate on Sundays. However those bendies spotted on service 169 today majority are cameos from WLDEP (one of them is TIB1192E if I am not wrong
)
Somehow I am also dismayed to see why today WLDEP have so many bendies on service 169 whereas today's service 980 still stick to their original rigid perms even on a Sunday. From what I know SMRT deploys bendies on service 980 depending on the bus drivers and their time slots.
In fact I also feel that WLDEP is too "pampered" with service 169 already. Should utilitise their bendies on more critical routes like service 980 during Sundays. -

I think it's a brilliant idea for 980 to operate full fleet nissan diesels. No mercerdes or scania buses are allowed to be deployed on 980. The additional S shift buses will also be Nissan diesels.

I beg to differ. Service 980 is really packed on afternoons going towards Geylang. However, the buses are nicely packed to the brim. Prehaps a similiar case will be to deploy FULL BENDY FLEETS (i.e NO single rigids) for Service 960 on Fridays to Sundays...

But then again the cost of operating a bendy (without full capacity) is always higher than a rigid (to max capacity). Furthermore, from my experience, service 980 loads on weekdays off peak are normally concentrated from Thomson Plaza to Novena Square. Compared to other services which have extremely high passenger volumes in both direction, service 980 (although I wished for) doesn't warrant bendies. However, I do agree that having split shift bendies would help the peak period loadings. -

980 loads are also high during weekday evening peak when it reaches the bus stop at Dieppe Barracks. It will be 70% to 90 plus% full and sometimes the BC doesn't stop. I guess the main problem is freq of 980. 980 in morning and evening peak sadly to say is not as high as 169 be it both directions if i consider freq. I think service 980 weekday freq is about 15 mins. so full bendy is not worth it...since they already tested -
Some Good news,Few SLs from both depots has been selected for bendy training,Sources say that both AMDEP & WLDEP will have 1 perm bendy each.
