Cos they buey song no fare hike ma, must 'cut cost'Originally posted by TIB1018B:TS should be referring to TIB1072T which is the only bendy seen on service 980 today.
In fact, service 169 even though have many perm bendies on weekdays however most of them according to driver's duty roster at WRI canteen they are under "OFF" on Sundays, which means these bendies don't operate on Sundays. However those bendies spotted on service 169 today majority are cameos from WLDEP (one of them is TIB1192E if I am not wrong)
Somehow I am also surprise to see why today WLDEP have so many bendies on service 169 whereas today's service 980 still stick to their original rigid perms even on a Sunday.
SHUT YOUR FARKING IDEA UP LAH U FARKING IDIOTOriginally posted by Airbus330Captain:I think it's a brilliant idea for 980 to operate full fleet nissan diesels. No mercerdes or scania buses are allowed to be deployed on 980. The additional S shift buses will also be Nissan diesels.

You seow ah?Just a few days pack doesnt mean its always pack. They already tested the route with bendies but the loads seems unjustified.Maybe that time breakdown occured.Weekends & PHs yes i agree.Originally posted by sbst275:Sv 980 do need bendies for weekday also
Off peak hr still packed like crazy
I beg to differ. Service 980 is really packed on afternoons going towards Geylang. However, the buses are nicely packed to the brim. So, packed, yes, but doesn't really need bendies.Originally posted by carbikebus:You seow ah?Just a few days pack doesnt mean its always pack. They already tested the route with bendies but the loads seems unjustified.Maybe that time breakdown occured.Weekends & PHs yes i agree.

Do I really care what you really think ? You are just a big big joke in this forum. The only fools who can take you seriously are the same kind like you. Fortunately, most of us have grown up.Originally posted by anti_NISSAN_U31:SHUT YOUR FARKING IDEA UP LAH U FARKING IDIOT![]()

But then again the cost of operating a bendy (without full capacity) is always higher than a rigid (to max capacity). The problem with sv 980 is that the high loading is only one direction at different times of the days.Originally posted by TIB1018B:Bendies will ease the standing crowd for this case![]()
Ever had full bendy fleets on sv 960 before, only recently SMRT then put in box merz n even scania perms on sv 960.Originally posted by TIB1062Y:Prehaps a similiar case will be to deploy FULL BENDY FLEETS (i.e NO single rigids) for Service 960 on Fridays to Sundays...![]()

Box Merz i ever saw on 960 were TIB726Y, TIB808U, TIB826S and TIB453J + a few others I cannot rmb.Originally posted by vivienlee:Ever had full bendy fleets on sv 960 before, only recently SMRT then put in box merz n even scania perms on sv 960.
980 loads are also high during weekday evening peak when it reaches the bus stop at Dieppe Barracks. It will be 70% to 90 plus% full and sometimes the BC doesn't stop. I guess the main problem is freq of 980. 980 in morning and evening peak sadly to say is not as high as 169 be it both directions if i consider freq. Thus, I guess that's why 169 is so pampered.Originally posted by off_service:But then again the cost of operating a bendy (without full capacity) is always higher than a rigid (to max capacity). Besides thinking of only the high loading at that certain area, SMRT also has to justify the cost for operating bendies on low loads, which meant almost practically empty buses at times.
Furthermore, from my experience, service 980 loads on weekdays off peak are normally concentrated from Thomson Plaza to Novena Square. Compared to other services which have extremely high passenger volumes in both direction, service 980 (although I wished for) doesn't warrant bendies. However, I do agree that having split shift bendies would help the peak period loadings.
I think service 980 weekday freq is about 15 mins. Only Sundays certain trips have shorter headway.Originally posted by tanjun:980 loads are also high during weekday evening peak when it reaches the bus stop at Dieppe Barracks. But I still think 980 deserves more perm buses.
seriously, when its morn off peak from town to wdl, demand is really low. no need for bendy.Originally posted by TIB1062Y:Haiz... I really miss those days when Service 960 was having full bendy deployment...** The good old days are over.. Sad to say but it's a fact for now.. **
