SMRT New Service from AMDEP: 859A

From 1 October, 859A will be introduced from 1215 am till 1250 am. This new shortroute will ply from Sembawang Int till Sembawang Vista (Bus Stop outside Sembawang Bus Int) in Yishun Direction.
This may come from commuters complaining about 859 last bus timing being too early and this disobeys one PTC guideline: Last Bus for feeder services must bring all passengers from the last MRT Train. Sembawang MRT last train leaves at 12:35 am to terminate at Kranji. Sembawang to Yishun 859 last bus leaves at 12:00 or 12:15 am. -
When I first read of 859A, I thought of the early morning Nissan UD buses ferrying schoolkids from Yishun to Sembawang and then terminate there so to get more passengers from Yishun.

isn't 882 a feeder?

If I'm not wrong 859A is the first trunk service SWT to serve like a feeder (i.e. operates within the town only)?? actually u see service 858 which terminates at Yishun from 11+pm, also not called 858A rite? so SMRT could have said: extending operation hours, but will terminate at Sun Plaza, instead of giving it a totally new name. but anyway "new servce 859A" sounds far more attractive that "extended operation hours for service 859", so obviously second one gives better impression.Originally posted by Y_Shun:hmm why can't they just set a new no. instead of juz adding a A =/ -
