It could'nt get more worse. 179 is packed full to the brim but with the Pionner MRT Station U/C, at least that will help decrease the loads. I say, maybe they just introduce a service from CCK to NTU. And Of Course, under SMRT.

I introduce 179A express. I cut run time because of its semi express route. Turnaround time for S179/S179A in totality is faster. means I will be able to cut at least 1-3 buses if that's the case.
Like this I have one extra spare bus in the depot - no need to worry not enough bus/worry less about not enough bus.
one extra bus in depot = one less BC to drive the bus - save the trouble of finding BC to drive the bus/cut manpower cost.
In all ways its cost savings for the company and in a way maximise profit on revenue per bus due to its turnaround time. -
Man, I waited 20 mins for a 179 bus this evening peak. Most buses were doing 179A.

Highly unlikely. There were 21 buses running yesterday. Today, there are 22! Something strange is happening... The normal 179 takes exactly the same time for 1 round as the old 179 (as scheduled on timesheet). Only the 179A timings are shorter. my gf, a student in NTU has a few points to say after two days of S179A started.
morning peak, S179A like no difference.
evening peak, S179A you can definitely feel the difference! zooooom!!! (yes she said zoooom) -

Took SBS9062M today, glanced at the timesheet and saw it does 3 179A trips followed by 1 179 trip in AM peak. (compared to 3 full 179 rounds in the same time frame)
Means BC needs to carry 3 sets of destos.

Any idea what are the 7 buses doing the afternoon rounds? And the 4 A/P shift buses? 9031C and 9049C don't seem to be on their normal rounds.
I haven't got a chance to spot buses since I am having classes from 9 to 3. -

The other 2 may be two of the following: 373A, 9015A, 9049C.
The E shift buses are 9131Y, 9291T (MIA), 9334D -

I think SBS Transit or SMRT should introduce a new service to NTU... People cant just have to travel to boon lay & take bus to NTU... like someone said, from CCK... If not, maybe from clementi...

BTW, I think SBST now gave up on making separate 179 AM and PM peak destos.
9334D was seen with a blank 179A desto, that means a normal 179A side desto, but the red part has no words at all.
