New Shortworking Trip 179A for NTU Students

179 today AGAIN not enough buses.
7255L (9152L cameo) came into service only at 7pm+, just do half a 242 round then BC can go home.
No bus at all for 9176T.
So again, big gap in 242 frequency as these 2 are actually consecutive buses at the 6.07pm period. -
Long queue in the morning still present after 179A had been implemented 4 days ago..

First 5 parking berths(nearest to Int Office) now used for 179/179A buses only during peak hrs, all other Services buses have to find parking berths elsewhere...

SBS9152L has one of the most interesting PM peak rounds.
In PM peak, this bus leaves SLBP and goes to NTU to do 1 round of 179A.
Then it does a full normal 179 round
Then it does a normal 179 round down trip (from T2)
Then it does 2 full 242 rounds (old 9214S timeslot, 18.10, 18.57)
Today, the BC, after doing the 179A round, he accidentally changed the front desto to 242 instead of 179! Then he drive to 179 boarding berth with 242 front desto. -
Today, there are 23 buses in service, all are different BCs, so not breakdown or something funny. I believe today finally all duties are filled with buses. In previous days, there were 1 to 3 empty timeslots.Originally posted by @

Board both buses if possible and take a look at their perm status stickers. 9162H has in fact been switched with 9094X. Or maybe a replacement hasn't been found for 9162H yet and 9094X is a fleet addition. Who knows?
So any 2 SLBP buses should cover the 2 extra duties, assuming they don't have any bus shortages for that day lah....

179 is on a completely new timetable, I don't believe the old 179 timings can be used. Only 242 and 255 timings are relatively unchanged.
But in PM peak, 9092B enters svc 3pm+, does 3 or 4 179A rounds, followed by 179 down trip (around 5pm+), followed by 1 or 2 179 rounds. -
Saw SBS7288S's timesheet today, and 179A in AM peak is extremely tight.
Only 23min is given, so the actual run time is 21min (given the 2min for BC to walk to his bus and drive out).
This is compared to the standard 37min (actual 35min) in AM peak. But the problem is that there isn't much difference in AM peak in terms of passenger loading and traffic.
21min is like the timing of the most pro BCs on 179 already. No wonder they need to reserve the 5 parking lots so the BCs can get out quicker. -

SBS9062M on 255 8S does

This week is the second week of 179A operation.
I have a very strong feeling that SBS373A has been kicked out since some of the S/E shift 179 buses now seem to be on weekly rotation. I.e. BC perm on bus, bus and BC together shift up one duty every week.
(i.e. 9092B, 9094X, 9128H, 9162H, 9214S same BC but different timeslot)
The BC perm on bus usually happens when the whole fleet has the same kind of buses.
Anyway, 179 should have 5 A/P shift buses now. So this means a total of 28 duties for 179.
In the old Weekday 36 timetable, 179 had 25 duties. 4 of those duties were taken by Standby BCs.
Now, 7 duties everyday are taken by Standby BCs! So very high chance for no bus on timeslot if they cannot find BC!
BTW, does anyone know what bus did the 18.10/18.57 departure (old 9214S timeslot) on 242 from BNL today? 9088P? 9128H? -
