Sorrie, i am nt very sure about the buses in the AM peak but I only can confirm the 4 buses in the PM peak..Originally posted by stooper:BTW, do you know what are all the 8 new 179 xovers in AM peak according to the 242 timetable I uploaded?
Like what is the bus that now departs BNL at 0700, 0707, etc? If can give all the 8 regoes, probably can deduce duty number easily.![]()
I like this kind of BC. flexible!Originally posted by chickenlittle2:There is one BC like to use JW Ave 5 and turn into JW st 71 back to BNL when driving 179A..

Anyone noticed the 179A side destos says "AM Peak" for mornings but "PM Pack" for evenings?wonder why.
Agreed with you. The 179 buses I rode once was packed when the bus reach the main library.Originally posted by SBS9818A:becos the bus is indeed PACKED in the afternoons and evenings lorr
But once exam is over, beyond 7.30pm, the load is mainly BNL to Jurong West Neighborhood, not so many leave NTU. So I think the 179A buses will be wasted after this period.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:With effect from 26 Nov 2007 (Mon), the timing of the last 179A bus to leave NTU will be extended from the existing 1930 hours to 2000 hours. This will be applicable to the remaining examination days as well as for the normal academic school term. The service will not be available during Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays and during the NTU Vacation Period.
This change by SBS Transit is based on feedback that many students are having difficulties in getting a bus out of NTU after the examination which end at 1900 hours or 1930 hours.
Exams end next Friday. Mon to Thu exams end either 7pm or 7.30pm in NTU, so there will be a lot of students going home from NTU then. Fri exams end latest 5pm, so yes, 179A buses will be wasted.Originally posted by stooper:But once exam is over, beyond 7.30pm, the load is mainly BNL to Jurong West Neighborhood, not so many leave NTU. I mean it will be wasted when normal academic term returns because you said 179A will still end at 8pm during normal academic term.Originally posted by foxtrot1985:Exams end next Friday. Okay I get what you mean. I just copied word for word the email that the student union sent to all the students, but I believe SBS Transit is doing this permanently because they'll be amending all the 179A posters soon to reflect the time change, even though the reason for the change was primarily due to the exams.Originally posted by stooper:I mean it will be wasted when normal academic term returns because you said 179A will still end at 8pm during normal academic term.![]()
Actually the idea of the front and back boarding is gd..Originally posted by stooper:This morning saw 179A back to two door boarding! (or maybe I a bit outdated) Both the entrance and exit doors can be used for boarding at BNL again.
But one thing I observed is that all the normal 179 route is faster than 179A. It's because the loading time for 179A takes very long! So if both 179 and 179A arrive together at the BNL berths, the normal 179 will he able to depart first and beat the 179A easily.
I noticed the NTU students are getting more stingy too. Once all the 179A bus seats are full, they wait for next one, don't want to stand. Then the green man keeps on asking the students to just board and not wait for next one.![]()
Yeah, I agree it's good. But the only problem they have now is that the people collide at the exit door because some who boarded from entrance want to sit lower deck. But some who board from exit want to go upper deck.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Actually the idea of the front and back boarding is gd..
