For the 179 AM peak, I have no idea how the buses run. I haven't spotted during that period yet.
For 179 PM peak, all timings are only approximate but the order of buses are correct. I can't get the actual timings because the TV at BNL has been removed and IRIS on the SBST website is still showing timings for the 179 Special1 timetable. So it's rather useless.
242 and 255 timings are accurate. I haven't identified the which 179 buse x-over to which 242 timeslot, so I've just give them numbers (179-1, 179-2, etc)
The only change to 242 timetable is that 9187L has taken over 9363U's (Weekday 36) timeslot.
This timetable should last only 1 more week since 1 December will be start of NTU Vacations.
Anyone have more info on the bus order or timings (especially noon time), please post here. -
With effect from 26 Nov 2007 (Mon), the timing of the last 179A bus to leave NTU will be extended from the existing 1930 hours to 2000 hours. This will be applicable to the remaining examination days as well as for the normal academic school term. The service will not be available during Saturdays, Sundays, Public Holidays and during the NTU Vacation Period.
This change by SBS Transit is based on feedback that many students are having difficulties in getting a bus out of NTU after the examination which end at 1900 hours or 1930 hours. -
But once exam is over, beyond 7.30pm, the load is mainly BNL to Jurong West Neighborhood, not so many leave NTU. Exams end next Friday. Mon to Thu exams end either 7pm or 7.30pm in NTU, so there will be a lot of students going home from NTU then. Okay I get what you mean. This morning saw 179A back to two door boarding! (or maybe I a bit outdated ) Both the entrance and exit doors can be used for boarding at BNL again.
But one thing I observed is that all the normal 179 route is faster than 179A. It's because the loading time for 179A takes very long! So if both 179 and 179A arrive together at the BNL berths, the normal 179 will he able to depart first and beat the 179A easily.
I noticed the NTU students are getting more stingy too. Once all the 179A bus seats are full, they wait for next one, don't want to stand. Then the green man keeps on asking the students to just board and not wait for next one. -

Yeah, I agree it's good. But the only problem they have now is that the people collide at the exit door because some who boarded from entrance want to sit lower deck.
