Some were on CSS
others from SBS.
u should contact Mike Davis for his Bedford photos through the publisher... DTS publishing.
F. W. York has Bedford SBs of the 1950s to 1970s under other various bus companies here. he is also contactable through DTS publishing. he co wrote a book with Mike recently on Singapore buses history. mr york himself covered the story of bues here from 1920s to 1960s in another book. which i dun have.

here is some information on the SBS Singapoe Bus services , Bedford SB5
from my impression, they did not really serve long under SBS. they were new in the 1951-52 so were probably removed from service by 1974 or so.
still Mike Davis found out that they were registered as SBS4121J to 4129M 4132 4133 4134 4139 4246 4247 4248 4249 4251 4252 4253 4433 4435 4437 4457 and 4485. excluding the check letters.
thats a count of 23 Bedfords in say 1973.
these 23 units of Bedford Sb5 can be further traced back to the 60s and 50s when they served under some other Chinese bus companies of the time.
Mike Davis regrets to report that he cannot find any Bedford Sb5 in SBS registration in picture form . however in his book
" Singapoe buses volume one Singapore Bus Services" Part one. published under DT publishing.
he did provide us with two pictures of Bedfords under the 11960s registrations of the SH series.
the Bedfords were bodied locally by this Soon Chow or Chua heng bodybuilders in 1951.
there exists a book written about Soon Chow bodybuilders Singapore by local authors.
Mike also could not obtain any VINs (chassis numbers) information when he wrote this book.

I thought our friend Suhirman Mahmood had one pic of a Bedford CSS Bus modified from a truck chasis.
I remember there used to be many Bedford school buses in the old days. Many of them had Merc steering wheels for some reason. A few even had Merc badges in front.
