While I have no way to prove or disprove that bit of info, the fact is tht sgwiki can be edited by anyone... tomorrow u may find that the info changed to SMRT ordered the Megashuttle chassis to replace all of the current fleet using Evobus bodyworks or things like that.

I doubt 66 Mercedes would come in. Alot of SLs had speculations that merc won't come in. The next contender would be 66 Nissan, according to what TIB1224Y said. However, i hope there would be 66 Hinos. ![]()

It's refurbishing / upgrading of 730 buses by 2010. No news of new buses.

They seem to use a carefully worded speech which indirectly pushes all the blame to the passengers for the state of cleanliness for their buses, and the Deputy CEO thinks he's a police comissioner advising the public.....the tone is just so suitable for Crime Watch.

wAh WaH... 700 impossible by SMRT in one night lah... They sell off their trains to buy?
There are zero new buses in since 2004 when TIBS was absorbed under SMRT. There is fleet addition, TIB1248D to TIB1257C loh, those buses took in from CSS, then the other few Nissans they bought in as CSS registrations.
At this rate, we need 700/0 years, which in fact is infinite years.
Straits Times reported 22nd April that SMRT will bring in '130 buses', dateline unknown.
sorry all i heard wrongly..
Ah its okay lols...

will bring in will bring in, forget it la.
as a np student, BY looking and comparing at the frequency of SMRT bus services and SBST, i pity myself as a resident in the north. Why 74, 151, 154, 52 has so many buses coming at peak hour, while resident in the north CAN ONLY wait for 184, 75 and 61, which the frequency are often SO SLOW that everytime a bus come, the bus is sure to jam and so packed.
HAIX!
Well... I shall see how far SMRT really can stretch and survive in this industry.. Pointless for me to keep whinning/complaining/sending feedbacks about their services when they only made minor or even no effort to improve it.. I shall await for the day when that fashionable yet good-for-nothing CEO, Mdm Saw Phiak Hwa, will step down from her position ASAP and someone who is much more capable than her, to take over her position... Time will tell everything and I shall see SMRT suffer even more in the coming years...
Hmm... wonder what prefix will they use? Since its officially SMRT Buses now instead of tibs, the TIB prefix should be come something else. Makes tracking the LTA site harder too in thise case.
its officially announced.. new SMRT buses will start rolling in in june 2008!!! ho seh ar..
I think its still TIB
