When STOMPer Gerald found the door of one bus falling off and the aircon in another leaking, it got him wondering what exactly was happening to all the public buses in Singapore.
Gerald tells STOMP in an email that he was on board SBS bus service number 31 on his way home, at about 5pm yesterday (26 Sept), when the bus suddenly stopped moving.
After a while, when all the passengers started to alight from the double-decker bus, he was shocked to find that the door of the bus had fallen off.
Gerald says that he then noticed that the bus driver who was issuing free tickets, had stopped momentarily to answer a phone call from someone the STOMPer believed to be a personnel of a tow truck company.
This stirred a commotion among the disgruntled passengers, Gerald says, and they told the bus driver to hurry up, to which he complied.
The STOMPer says that when he boarded the next bus service number 31, he found the aircon leaking.
Gerald says that these two incidents had caused him to question the service quality of public buses here.
STOMP has brought the issue up to ComfortDelGro.
