From STOMP: bus door falls off

on route 31, i presume this is on a bus with doors that open outwards? -
Wah piang if something like this can happen , then clearly something must be very wrong with the maintenance precedure or rules . Frankly speaking i like seeing more and more sbs buses breaking down .

Hmm could it be that the mechanism that pushes the door open (the L shaped bar) joint suffered a weld failure?

As for SBS Transit reaction to this, it would be something like: This is a rare case and we are investigating the cause. We regret that this has happened. We assure you that we are committed to ensuring the highest level of service is rendered. Our buses are regularly inspected and the safety of passengers have been our top priority. We will do a review and implement necessary precautions. Thank you for your feedback.
Maybe it was a result of cost cutting. -
Ytd i was on TIB1102R on 176. actually, mrt doors can accidentally open too. i mean while travelling, and on the opposite side of the platform opening side.
cos yesterday the door i was leaning on opened up in the tunnel. well luckily i was leaning on my hand and quickly used my body weight to shift back the door close. it was peak hr, alot of ppl saw it happen. dun think anyone took a pic though, alot of hot air was rushing in and the train was packed.
well, no pic, dun ask me 4 one, was nt possible for me to take anyway....

Wow! A patchy safety and maintainence record for the VSOs, with one of them being the rear wheels falling off (SBS 9844Z) and now the exit door falling off (SBS 9817C).
Also notice that the two are from AMDEP and BRBP (both are interchangeable)? How did both of them handle their VSO until it came to such a state? -
