  Around 3pm ~ 3.30pm... was waiting for my 812 bus and saw this lor...
  
  But why if the BC didn't clear the EDS, the "Rd" is missing from the "Yio Chu Kang" and instead got replaced by "E 2"?
  
  BTW, TIB 1176 C cameoed 854 today, so the E 2 stood for Hougang Ave 2.

  Frankly such stuck EDS messages are very common at interchanges (for TIB1147L to TIB1247G using flip dots with individually-lit LED), but they will surely be refreshed to the correct states when revenue trip commences.

  Flip dot, but the whole board's LEDs gets lit (non-individual lighting) but a "black dot" position will cover the light while the "yellow dot" will expose the light. the black-yellow contrast is not as strong, but it is cheaper to procure. try standing on the left of earlier Habits (TIB1060C, TIB1062Y-TIB1146P) and right and you can see that the LED's are all lit up underneath the dots.

  The EDS needs power to operate. When the battery of the bus is switched off naturally the EDS will stop working.
  
  Most services are like that. Many service 963 buses are in this "state" when at HarbourFront most of the time.
  
  Like what Tamago said, once the battery is on, the EDS will refresh itself, or after the SL entered the service codes.

  There isn't any EDS for PA4076K, it uses a black plastic desto with yellow CHARTERED words. If you saw the Lance in the morning, probably its doing the Bishan Depot shuttle.
