i think that they are trying to program all the route details into the EDS system. what brand did the EDS come from? hope that it is Transit Media

First of all, I would like to correct the way to convey your thoughts in a more correct manner. "Permanent perm" = "Permanent Permanent". So you should get what I'm hitting at.

Secondly, SMRT loves to have "weekly perms" for some services, just like the rigids previously whereby it cameos on 962 for a week before getting substituted by another rigid. So based on track history, one week on a particular service doesn't mean anything.

However, if you still see the bus parking there during off peak (and very sure it's not on 980) for another week or two that could be another story.

So please keep us updated.

Impossible. More likely to be Employee Bus. Services 39 and 85 are wholly BNDEP and HGDEP controlled respectively.

Much lesser probability but it can also be for 161 or 168.

Unless.. one of the services has a depot transfer today. Laughing
