SBS 9404K [BN 168] on sv9 dropped a tyre while leaving Bedok Int at ard 11.30pm. The whole tyre tore off from the rim from the right centre wheel, damaging part of the body. The bus literally came to a grinding halt.

not sure which service it is on, as EDS was off.
the road was already jammed due to the traffic to Checkpoint and this breakdown make the jam even more worst..

Non-Sg Accident
Image copyright Ming Bao. Vehicle in the picture is the DT involved in the accident.
On 14th December, 2330hrs, a Citybus Service E22A (Dennis Trident 12 metre ALX500 bodied, fleet number 2106) and a New World First Bus service 796S (Volvo Super Olympian ALX500 bodied, fleet number 5013) crashed at a crossing in Tseung Kwan O, Hong Kong, causing two deaths and 14 injured. The VSO had no passenges on board, while the DT had some passengers. The two fatalities were caused by the breaking of the front portion of the bus and they were thrown out and went under the vehicle. The VSO was supposed to give way at a junction to let the DT go straight, but instead proceeded and collided with the DT, which itself was possibly traveling at high/very high speed. The NWFB BC was convicted of dangerous driving leading to fatalities and charged by the police. He had started work at four in the afternoon, had a break at nine and suppose to 'swing' (off work) at one thirty in the morning the next day. At the time of the accident, due to the absence of passengers on the bus, it was suspected by the police that he slacked off and might have even forgotten about stopping and giving way, which lead to the accident.
I believe that an accident of such severity has happened before. Whether someone was thrown out of the vehicle I am not too sure. Remember 9378C?Originally posted by Oceane:If this type of accidents happen in SG...

Something like that, just that HK's maximum capped speed is 60+20km/h, and that 20, I must say, a thin life and death line...
One other spectacular one i can remember was the DD that got its top totally shaved off after going under a 4.0m clearance section of an overhead bridge/flyover in construction at adam/farrer stretch......Originally posted by Oceane:But I believe the extent of the damage is not as bad as the Trident shown in the picture lei...
The closest I've heard of was a VO3x crashing into a tree years back in Bedok. 1 boy sitting in front almost got flung out of the bus (he was sitting on the upper deck, front row) but in the end he sustained injuries and needed to go hospital for stitches.
Memory is vague but I think the rego for that accident was 9333G. Not sure though...
9378C accident happened at the Int. Speed most probably <40Km/h. And the bus that rammed into it was a MK II not a Double deck. If not, more than the AC would be gone case.Originally posted by TIB1224Y:I believe that an accident of such severity has happened before. Fell off FROM the bus , fell DOWN in the bus or fell off in the bus SEATs ?Originally posted by sbst275:Apparently someone fell off in the bus
I suspect the steps aft the exit door being the culprit
Judging by the fact that sbst275 mentioned exit doors being the "culprit" most likely it's falling off from the bus.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Fell off FROM the bus , fell DOWN in the bus or fell off in the bus SEATs ?![]()
