Dear Singapore Buses forum friend,can anyone tell me where can i find pictures of the 70's-80's buses pictures.?I would like to see those Leylands,Mercedes-Benz...pictures thanks..

they got the books of on old sbs buses buses including the regos and some tech infos.
ps: was surprised that sbs loan like 5buses to tibs when the company (tibs) just operated and still awaiting for their orders to arrive. the buses were in TIBS livery and in SBS Rego. quite interesting though. -

Those TIBS-livery SBS buses were MB OF 1417s

yes them mercs used to serve 169 or SS1. mainly SS1.

An SBS Bus in TIBS colours! During 1988, Trans Island Bus Services were short of buses and, pending the arrival of addititonal new vehicles, a number of SBS Mercedes-Benz OF1417s were hired, reported (according to comments on the website SGForums) for use to help-out on Sembawang and Yishun routes 167, 169, 800, 801, 802, 803, etc. Buses involved included SBS1632X, SBS5574D, SBS5576Z, SBS5577X and SBS5583G - although there may have been others. Here, SBS5577X is seen between duties on SS1 for which it carries a route plate and a front blind. -

saw SBS5331M (VIN:7602999) & SBS5332K (VIN:7603001)
both buses registered on 7 June 1977 with MetSec Bodies.
they were under the list of AN68A/2R - Trial Order -
the AN68A/2R on the Left is believed to be SBS5328Z (VIN:7602997) it has a Baco body but the front was replaced by a Alexander front due to an accident damage.Originally posted by kenn3th:

these buses here are from the trial batch (SBS5325G - SBS5344B)
they were bodied by Baco or MetSec.
SBS5328Z has a Alexander front as the original Baco front was damaged. -

140's fleet contains alot of Baco bodied DDs.
Decision made in 1976 to evaluate the suitability of the DDs in Singapore.
trial order came and 20 (10 for each bodies) new AN68/2Rs was on the street serving 86 & 140.

last from the trial order (the 20th DD) - SBS5343D was reg on 27th July 1977 -
