SBS8037T.
from the trainer, SBS8888D broke down. -.-"
Noted some things about SBS8037T
1: Large Scania Badge
2: BC got a personal lighting.
3: Watch for steps flap was place on the CEILING.. (So high, by the time you've notice, you alrdy tripped.)
About SBS8888D
1: Seat belts!
2: has the warning signage which tells you to watchout of your head. (or you'll be knocking the ceiling!)
the rest is similar.
1. one of them has a wheelchair ramp infront (Aust Version?)
2. the rest is at the mid exit, just that the method on opening the ramp is abit different, without the stick to pull it out.
seating capacity is lower than the Dennis Dart.
3. EDS displays the route number only.
4. has kneeling effect.
5. very quiet engine (i doubt it'll last)
Seriously, if big brands like Scanias or Volvo or even Mercedes have provided a very good deal to SBST, i see no reason why SBST must reject and turn towards brands like Daewoo.Originally posted by carbikebus:I do hope that SBST would consider MAN or Daewoo(Full air suspension)in future rather than the old same Scanias,Mercedes or Volvos
SBS8036X, tdy at BNL, like 15 - 20mins then leave. I ask the BC, he told me that he's rushing.Originally posted by dfs24:Okay, so now
have been spotted. Anyone seen 8036?
I know they don't have to release the buses in chronological order.
It could be due to not as good ride quality and lack of WAB capable chassis. Also, bus companies do have to take into account the cost for maintaining the vehicle thru its entire life, i.e. 17 years, and calculate if it is feasible to use the chassis.Originally posted by sBs_boy:Seriously, if big brands like Scanias or Volvo or even Mercedes have provided a very good deal to SBST, i see no reason why SBST must reject and turn towards brands like Daewoo.
I've asked 2 Senior Technical Officers from both company,Its more of contract honours rather than price,If its a bit expensive but the bus itself is durable, practical and last long why not?Its merely because Scania Singapore got connection with CD.Originally posted by XiaoTaro:It could be due to not as good ride quality and lack of WAB capable chassis. It is Singapore's most environmentally friendly public bus. It is also the friendliest to the elderly and disabled - being able to ferry two wheelchair-bound passengers at any one time. And to top it all off, it is also one of the safest - boasting an advanced braking system which helps to minimise on-board accidents.
SBS Transit's newest buses, which will hit the roads from 1 November 2007, have been designed to not only cater to the needs of a broader spectrum of commuters but also to do its part for the environment.

I doubt they will all be released all of a sudden. It will be released in stages like the B9, and also because the older buses are scrapped in stages. Just a hypothesis.Originally posted by BusSpeeder:will all 500 buses be released tomorrow or in stages?

The buses will be released batch by batch. It's like the MK2s, they're scrapped batch by batch. If not, you'll c many K230UB just on the first day and all K230UB, gone just in a day!Originally posted by Oceane:If all 500 are to be released tomorrow... then why only 12 buses are registered?![]()
