Plus taking over the old scrap scania N113CRBOriginally posted by Oceane:There hasn't been any news of any Scanias residing in AMDEP...
But most probably the Scanias won't replace the B9TLs. As mentioned by SBST the Scanias were brought in to cover the old buses that were going to be scrapped, means the new Scanias will take over the MKIIs and the WA MBs that will be going for scrapping next year.
Then most probably each depot would have Scanias.
I think the CRBs should be preserved since they were the first batch of Scanias that arrived in bulk on SG soil.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:Plus taking over the old scrap scania N113CRB

500 NEW BUSES TO TRAVEL ON
SBS Transit is rolling out 500 new single deck buses from today and they promise to be extra friendly to the environment and the disabled. Built at a cost of $180 million, they are the first buses in Singapore to have the Euro IV engines, which emit fewer harmful particulates. The transmission systems will also improve fuel efficiency.
The buses will accommodate two passengers in wheelchairs at any one time, as compared to space for only one currently.
More legroom – between 25mm and 90mm more than the 250mm on existing single-deck buses or 290mm for the wheelchair accessible double deck buses – has also been added, based on commuter feedback, SBS Transit said yesterday.
As for safety, the buses feature an advanced braking system, which becomes engaged whenever the entrance or exit doors are opened.
The new Euro IV buses will be deployed to the fleet of Services 100 and 174.
To SBST, this type of technology is new to them...Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:This technology has been around in SG for quite some time . The Habits have this feature.
Wheel archs, and above the archs could be the luggage racks(areas).Originally posted by Y_Shun:Whats the space behind the driver cabin and behind the entrance? Wheels?

Maybe SBST should put the new Scania on airport plying services such as 36,27,24,53. Then that space would be put to good use. Of course one could argue that hardly anyone goes to the airport to catch a flight by bus. Maybe this would encourage them to do so.Originally posted by C751B:Wheel archs, and above the archs could be the luggage racks(areas).
The Airport Bus Terminal is also used as a transfer stop to Singapore Expo. Dun be suprised to see many ppl boarding an Airport Service like 858, 54, 27 and 36 heading back to their individual interchanges.Originally posted by dfs24:Maybe SBST should put the new Scania on airport plying services such as 36,27,22,24,53.
