Well, the front desto need not be changed. But yea, I agree that if the bus wants to go off service, it could be tricky to remove the desto. Just like the CNG.Originally posted by service_238:That's their opinion in general. You just look at how will the driver change the desto if its used. confirm cannot reach
I would think that the passengers of 27 would prefer Volvo Mk4s as compare to Scania K230UBs.Originally posted by bus555:Does anyone of you think Service 27 need Scania K230UB?
1. Those Volvo B10M Mark IVs does not have standee and it is damn crowded like sardines.

From my perspective, the Han Characters are no longer necessary in this age. You have to look at it this way; last time, many singaporeans couldn't read English, thus, the characters. Now, in an ever globalizing world, most Singaporeans can read. Furthermore, we can't expect them to use han, especially with the tourism industry booming. People all over the world who come to Singapore read English as a common language. And also, in a multi-racial society, I have heard of minority groups complaining that the usage of han characters is unfair as their languages are not put up. Just imagine, if the PTC had decided to change the MRT station displays to only han or only tamil or only malay- tons of complain would come in. So, it would be in the best interest of businesses to not trouble themselves by making trouble not available in the first place.Originally posted by sbst275:But I bet complain would come over lack of han characters

Supposed to have, but I think the BCs doesn't know how to set. Meanwhile I think we can try to be more patient.Originally posted by ngjy22:The side EDS, I'd rather they use desto. It's only "100", that's all! Nothing else, it's quite a waste...
same goes for the SMRT buses. the side EDS displays only the number.Originally posted by ngjy22:The side EDS, I'd rather they use desto. It's only "100", that's all! Nothing else, it's quite a waste...
on the first day of service, all the bc driving the scanias were late.Originally posted by kitoshizc:However I noticed the Scania is slower than other buses. Before this new bus was introduced, when I took Svc 100, 90% of the time I could reach my office in time. however after it was introduced, I was late 90%.
Took my 1st ride today and the bus was quite fast (SBS 8041 E). I boarded it at Anson Road today after waiting rather long for it(2 other 100s passed by before it). The bus was rather packed at 1st but after it reached Beach Rd, the whole bus only left with me and another passenger When the bus reached Upp Sgoon Rd, it caught up with the previous bus (SBS 2818 X) and managed to cut pass it and it arrived at Sgoon Int about 2 mins before 2818X. However this is only my first trip so i cant really jump to any conclusionsOriginally posted by kitoshizc:However I noticed the Scania is slower than other buses. The service number at the front EDS seems squished together. I cannot see the numbers clearly from far!Originally posted by dfs24:Well, it seems that the font is relatively big sized.
I took this bus today too! I felt the travelling speed was quite fast but the travelling time, even slower than the strider I took on sunday.Originally posted by SBS9889U:Took my 1st ride today and the bus was quite fast (SBS 8041 E).
