[Locked] SBS Transit orders 900 buses from Scania (Part 1)

  That time it was $35m for 1st batch of 100 buses

  We have also continued to invest new buses. In the last two years, we have spent $140 million for 300 new buses. We have just placed another order for 400 new buses which will cost us an additional $145 million. We intend to increase the number of buses we operate to improve the service frequency of our buses and meet our obligations required under the new Quality of Service Standards.

  I'm back. Overheard through the radio today at JB. I was on holiday and counted 'off-service' on Friday. Well, 500 buses would replace: The Merc OACs (All 500 of them). The B9TLs replace the MK-II. FYI, SBS2888T is at Scania HQ.

  Hope Scania can fix up the electronics and other problems in that sickly bus so as to match the condition of its incoming baby brothers.

  the pronlem with SBS2888T is that SBS dunno how to repair it well. reason being is they dun operate a fleet of Scania l84Ub series of bus. if they had bought the above mentioned model of bus in 2000 with WAB facilities, we would not be having to see poor SBS2888t go thru such an ordeal.

  BN. Just take a look at their other buses. Go thing 1688K Is now under HGDEP.

  There are other range of regos that they have not been used before. Dont keep looking at 7500 - 7999 just because of the recent registered B9s. they can be of a whole different range. You will never know.

  Wrong, K230UBs replacing N113CRB and part of Mercedes fleet. If you calculate the number of n113crb and O405, there are more than 500 altogether.

  I don't think L94UB is as similar to N113CRB than the B10BLE is to B10M's, especially considering that SBST has a much better expertise at maintaining B10M and Volvo's in general.

  Please look at the post above me and you'd know why I say SBS 7500 D ~ SBS 7999 Z. It's because the list that is provided by SGWiki states that there hasn't been any buses registered under the range of 7500 to 7999. (Most other numbers have been taken by presently deregistered or scrapped buses) and if you were to slot the Scania K230UBs through the missing gaps, it's confusing to maintain.
  
  7500 - 7999, with an exact range of 500, is just nice as SBS 7499 A is a B9TL and SBS 8000 Z is a Nissan Civillian (Deregistered), which means that the gap of 500 is closed.
