yah the vibrations are v disturbing. the bus is resonating at a natural freq (no joke this is real). i seen it in person, the bars become a nice purple blur as the bus move. quite cool to see actually.Originally posted by alleggerita:Doubt so leh..it's not only the poles vibrating..EVERYTHING in the bus is vibrating..when I'm sitting at the back near the engine and when the bus accelerates, the seat back of the seat I'm sitting on just keeps vibrating..giving me a 'nice massage'..
The poles only serves to amplify the vibrations both visually and vocally..
I cant explain clearly for this case , but i do remember that if a something vibrates at the same rate as the structure's natural frequency , the thing will collapse.Originally posted by ZYX2005:yah the vibrations are v disturbing. the bus is resonating at a natural freq (no joke this is real). i seen it in person, the bars become a nice purple blur as the bus move. quite cool to see actually.
u can see the resonance freq on the front where the road tax disc are. it is stated. (most ironic thing i noticed so far)
i think it boils down to not fixing some vibration retarding material as tamago suggested, or it could be a usual gemilang inferior product problem.
also the denso air-con cover is loosely fitted and so rattle on its holding base. contribute to the general noise.
Can show us, even if it's blur?Originally posted by ZYX2005:i shot a M trans bodywork coach in Hk and also a SC elite or soemthing singapore bodied coach in HK. but all blur. grr

That one can't be helped, I only feel the pole needs to be stabilised, much like the Lance's swinging grab handles last time, poor design.Originally posted by alleggerita:Doubt so leh..it's not only the poles vibrating..EVERYTHING in the bus is vibrating..when I'm sitting at the back near the engine and when the bus accelerates, the seat back of the seat I'm sitting on just keeps vibrating..giving me a 'nice massage'..

can learn from the interior design of Sentosa Volvo B7RLE buses: PA5278M, PA5279K, PA5286POriginally posted by ^tamago^:That one can't be helped, I only feel the pole needs to be stabilised, much like the Lance's swinging grab handles last time, poor design.

Yeah, maybe the bodywork too cheapo, too light.Originally posted by ZYX2005:i think it boils down to not fixing some vibration retarding material as tamago suggested, or it could be a usual gemilang inferior product problem.
K230s are cheaper compared to B9Ls or Citaros...But still reasonable for SG roads. If only there are a bit more seats at the front...Originally posted by stooper:Yeah, maybe the bodywork too cheapo, too light.
Today took the Scania for the first time. Externally looks alright, but when I sat at the back row, the engine sounded so familiar! Sounded almost the same as N113CRBs! Like some big old truck.
It sounds so old as compared to the DM3500, which has much more futuristic sounds.
Yeah, maybe you are right about Gemilang's inferior bodywork..maybe the body not secured tightly enough onto the chassis, hence not enough structural rigidity..[/img]Originally posted by ZYX2005:yah the vibrations are v disturbing. the bus is resonating at a natural freq (no joke this is real). i seen it in person, the bars become a nice purple blur as the bus move. quite cool to see actually.

This is not the only 1 spotted today. Currently there's a total of 3 K230UBs spotted.Originally posted by Oceane:ARBP has received the K230UBs. Deployment unsure, someone saw SBS 8049 J on 123.

Yeah, I think CDGE bodywork also CMI. 9889U has rather bad rattling at the back. Took 7365C on 198 the other day. Even the bus stopping poles on the upper deck will rattle when the bus is idling!Originally posted by alleggerita:Yeah, maybe you are right about Gemilang's inferior bodywork..maybe the body not secured tightly enough onto the chassis, hence not enough structural rigidity..[/img]
