Hehe me did not really liked the left row back seat when i joyrided on SBS8138K though...the outside view got obstructedOriginally posted by SBS261P:is it just me or is it that the window area at 2nd last row window seats are v poorly designed? de thing keeps obstructing and u can't rest ur elbow on de ledge. quite painful really when the bus hits bumps or makes a sharp turn...
when the last row left-most seat vacated i quickly change and sit there... my favourite seat when joyriding![]()
SBS 8033D seems to be a bit cramp..Originally posted by SBS7314A:Hehe me did not really liked the left row back seat when i joyrided on SBS8138K though...the outside view got obstructed
But it was comfortable resting my arm on the window ledge there![]()
No. The engine vibration is normally felt during low engine revs. Once the bus speeds up, the vibration is gone. The engine will also vibrate if it is revving too fast, so it is always best to keep it in the green zone.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:does the vibration mean that the engine become more powerful?
I like my 'non-vibrating' (actually little vibration) Scania.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:ok la.. after the bus operates for a long time, the vibrate problem is much ok..
Like..

Old people in Whampoa and RedhillOriginally posted by bus555:Do you think Service 139 would be the net to have Scania K230UB because 139 passes through old people area like Whampoa and Redhill..?![]()
as a frequent on sv5, i find that the bus only fills up during peak hrs. other than that, the bus is relatively empty.Originally posted by TWS4793:I'd rather that Service 5 also get these new Scanias. It passes by two medical facillities, one is Thomson Medical Centre, the other one is Changi General Hospital.
It doesn't really pass by SGH, and Thomson Medical Center is usually for pregnant women, seldom see other patients there, most of the non-pregnant people who visit Thomson are usually richer people who drive car.Originally posted by TWS4793:Old people in Whampoa and Redhill.

TMC is meant for pregnant mumsOriginally posted by Scania:It doesn't really pass by SGH, and Thomson Medical Center is usually for pregnant women, seldom see other patients there, most of the non-pregnant people who visit Thomson are usually richer people who drive car.
Means the balancing shaft buang liao..Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:No. The engine vibration is normally felt during low engine revs. Once the bus speeds up, the vibration is gone. The engine will also vibrate if it is revving too fast, so it is always best to keep it in the green zone.
Go drive a manual car and try dragging at 2nd gear on 3rd gear speedOriginally posted by alleggerita:Means the balancing shaft buang liao..![]()
So you saying the bus' automatic gearbox was in the wrong gear which causes the vibrations?Originally posted by sbst275:Go drive a manual car and try dragging at 2nd gear on 3rd gear speed
When the speed is at the border the engine would tend to vibrate or roarOriginally posted by alleggerita:So you saying the bus' automatic gearbox was in the wrong gear which causes the vibrations?![]()
An automatic gearbox will rarely let the engine drag..unless the driver put the pedal to the metal himself..An automatic gearbox will know which point to shift up to strike the best balance between good acceleration and good FC..Originally posted by sbst275:When the speed is at the border the engine would tend to vibrate or roar
Like me, who spent $0.3K (something like that) for my medical bill at Thomson Medical Centre while I had dengue fever (somemore during SARS period).Originally posted by Scania:It doesn't really pass by SGH, and Thomson Medical Center is usually for pregnant women, seldom see other patients there, most of the non-pregnant people who visit Thomson are usually richer people who drive car.
Oops, see wrong, eye got stamp.Originally posted by TWS4793:Like me, who spent $0.3K (something like that) for my medical bill at Thomson Medical Centre while I had dengue fever (somemore during SARS period).
You look confused.
SGH =/= Changi General Hospital
Service 5's route involves passing by Changi General Hospital, which is at Simei.
Anyway, not going too much into off topic here.
Sometimes the driver loves to accerlerate, release and depress again...Originally posted by alleggerita:An automatic gearbox will rarely let the engine drag..unless the driver put the pedal to the metal himself..An automatic gearbox will know which point to shift up to strike the best balance between good acceleration and good FC..
I notice you like to base your comments on theory alone.Originally posted by alleggerita:An automatic gearbox will rarely let the engine drag..unless the driver put the pedal to the metal himself..An automatic gearbox will know which point to shift up to strike the best balance between good acceleration and good FC..
Actually what is meant by tune loose/tight? Is it tune tight will change gear faster?Originally posted by SBS3625D:To add on, just look at the different variations of the ZF4s in SMRT and SBST. Some lock-up at 1st, others 2nd, some are tuned tight, others loose.
