well, no SD was due for decomissionning beck then.Originally posted by ZYX2005:the pronlem with SBS2888T is that SBS dunno how to repair it well. reason being is they dun operate a fleet of Scania l84Ub series of bus. if they had bought the above mentioned model of bus in 2000 with WAB facilities, we would not be having to see poor SBS2888t go thru such an ordeal.
its just a case of no learning curve.

yes sadly that is da case. +1.Originally posted by iveco:well, no SD was due for decomissionning beck then.
BTW, the L94UB with the Habit body kit looks HAWT. Tibs should have brought them in instead of the Volgren O405s.
If you insist 7500 - 7999 is the only slot available. So be it.Originally posted by Oceane:Please look at the post above me and you'd know why I say SBS 7500 D ~ SBS 7999 Z. It's because the list that is provided by SGWiki states that there hasn't been any buses registered under the range of 7500 to 7999. (Most other numbers have been taken by presently deregistered or scrapped buses) and if you were to slot the Scania K230UBs through the missing gaps, it's confusing to maintain.
7500 - 7999, with an exact range of 500, is just nice as SBS 7499 A is a B9TL and SBS 8000 Z is a Nissan Civillian (Deregistered), which means that the gap of 500 is closed.
Yeah no point argueing with these kind of obstinate people. Let them be.Originally posted by sBs_boy:If you insist 7500 - 7999 is the only slot available. So be it.
I think you don't really understand what I'm trying to say, do you?Originally posted by sBs_boy:If you insist 7500 - 7999 is the only slot available. So be it.
Come on, I'm only expecting, I don't even know their regos but judging by the information given by SGWiki, I THINK (I say it again, THINK) it might be that range. You guys keep thinking that I'm affirmative and very sure that it's that range, and as if I know?Originally posted by Oceane:I'm expecting their regos for 500 buses to be from SBS 7500 D ~ SBS 7999 Z.
You guys don't know how to look at sentences properly, I said I was guessing, not confirming. Anyway, peace out on this matter, the Scanias would eventually be deployed. IMO, there could be other numbers given to them but I thought this range could be quite reasonable?Originally posted by Oceane:I was just making a guess anyway...
You know something? SG never had DM-bodied Scanias. However, there are CLLs in Estonia with DM body kits. Wonder which range are these from.Originally posted by ZYX2005:yes sadly that is da case. +1.
IMGO if u grab a scania L94Ub chassis n build a habit bodywork on to the skeletall thhing , the bus might become rather shaky.
In the Uk their scania strider also like crap. the ELBO built scanias we have here also shaky.
in UK i seen b4 strider n113CRB. ah that one ride comfort gone case.
personally if i were to buy a scania bus i will insist on the in house product of omnicity or Omnidekka of Scania or go for the British East Lanchsire bodywork. these are tried n proven bodyworks fitting for scania chassis n engines .

It is common business practice to award a contract to the company who offered the best/most attractive deal. This package not only includes the delivery of the chassis but also other things such as the supply of spare parts, warranty and on-site service. I'm sure SBS Transit had invited several bus makers to send in a proposal and somehow, Scania managed to pip its competitors and get the contract.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:hahaz.. heard that because scania offers SBST a special price when they buy a huge no of buses from them. SBST seems to forget about how the condition of their buses regardless of the only new scania (L94UB) and other old scania on the rd..
SBST cannot afford to buy Volvo or mecedez.. hahaz.. Save Money!
Ah, lets see what the remaining buses would be, before you talk. Then like this means SBS no money buy Scania and Volvo after they brought the 700 Merc. Nonsense.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:SBST cannot afford to buy Volvo or mecedez.. hahaz.. Save Money!
Scania has gained its trust from Singapore bus and coach operators over the years, look at the amount of coaches, Scania has the most share amongst all the European manufacturers, especially recent years. It shows that Scania buses are well recieved by bus and coach operators.Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Scania are now into its 4th(or 5th?) generation chassis with a wide range of quality products. You have to give credit for their improvements over the old generation 113s.
That is a good sign. The brand is one that I respect the most. THe CRBs will be fondly remembered by me after they get decommissioned.Originally posted by Scania:Scania has gained its trust from Singapore bus and coach operators over the years, look at the amount of coaches, Scania has the most share amongst all the European manufacturers, especially recent years. Yup, Habit body kits are nice. After all, it was designed by automotive designers Pininfarina, who worked for Ferrari. They were also responsible for giving shape to the Hyundai Matrix.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:Volvo and Mercedes Benz looks nice on Habits . Iveco too .

Hispano-bodied Irisbus Agoras can be seen in Spain. Haven't come across any Volvo ones so far, though.

I do think they will consider Volvo amongst other manufacturers, chosing a bus shouldn't be based on SBS-Volvo relationship, but based on costs.Originally posted by chickenlittle2:I am just stating wat my friend says so.. Volvo would still be the majority after that![]()
What about Tibs and Evobus? Care to comment about their relationship?Originally posted by Scania:I do think they will consider Volvo amongst other manufacturers, chosing a bus shouldn't be based on SBS-Volvo relationship, but based on costs.
Is the plate in blue? Was it hung instead of screwed onto the body itself? Are the numbers twice as big as normal?Originally posted by tanjun:I saw a new Scania WAB buses with red EDS writing SBST new WAB buses along Sembawang Rd opposite Dieppe Barracks.
Behind the bus, there is a number 4693 number plate but without SBS prefix . I guess that since SBST is importing 500 buses,
perhaps rego of Scania WAB buses are: 4501 to 5000 or 4500 to 4999
Yup. The plate is blue and it seems to be hung instead of screwed onto the body itself. The bus body has no painting yet. Wondering why Scania WAB will pass by Sembawang Rd since it is SMRT territory?Originally posted by Superbus:Is the plate in blue? Was it hung instead of screwed onto the body itself? Trade plate, only temporary.Originally posted by tanjun:Yup. The plate is blue and it seems to be hung instead of screwed onto the body itself. The bus body has no painting yet. Wondering why Scania WAB will pass by Sembawang Rd since it is SMRT territory?
If the plate is blue , then its just Testing only , its not going to be rego anyway.Originally posted by tanjun:Yup. The plate is blue and it seems to be hung instead of screwed onto the body itself.
