I would say they might do fairly well... they have far more powerful acceleration than I expected when I rode 8034 on 174 2 days ago.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:I really wonder how will the K230UB fare (full load) when climbing steep slopes especially on routes like 179 (NUS), 36,48,518 (ECP).
Can wait long long before they make them perm on NUS & NTU routes.Originally posted by Airbus330Captain:I really wonder how will the K230UB fare (full load) when climbing steep slopes especially on routes like 179 (NUS), 36,48,518 (ECP).
Service 179 is typically worst hit during school days. Of course have to wait long long before Scanias go to 179.Originally posted by stooper:Can wait long long before they make them perm on NUS & NTU routes.![]()
Can have perm K230UBs on 179 but you'll see groups of 179 coming together. Then long queue of 179 buses at bus stops and frequency will go down until maybe like 20sec - 1min per busOriginally posted by TWS4793:Service 179 is typically worst hit during school days. Honestly speaking, NTU's transportation system is screwed up.Originally posted by TWS4793:Service 179 is typically worst hit during school days. Of course have to wait long long before Scanias go to 179.![]()
I wonder if the future opening of Joo Koon INT would help ease the crowds.Originally posted by Scania:Honestly speaking, NTU's transportation system is screwed up.
1) 2 Bus services out of NTU, and both bring students to the same interchange. Need to have more services out to somewhere further.
4) No Train lines to NTU even though a branch line out of EWL would help situation (though quite expensive).
There's a proposed Jurong Regional Line from Jurong East(Int) Stn to NTU via Boon Lay Stn waiting to be apporved...Originally posted by Scania:Honestly speaking, NTU's transportation system is screwed up.

Apart from the seats which is seriously too little... I think they vibrate less than the L113 and the ELBOs.![]()

In actuality, those are not really Scania buses but Scania bus-chassi only since they use 3rd party made bus body ! Scania also produces complete 'real' (i.e. original design & bodied) buses but it seems the market here not yet 'arrived' to go for such grade of omnibus.Originally posted by ngjy22:
