There's 1 Mercedes O405 that has no standing space one. SBS 0293 Y (268 AMDEP). Someone mentioned back then one of the scanias were of a different bodywork... what rego is it? anyone got pic?

K230UB is designed as a crush loading bus to squeeze as many people as possible. 56 has higher pax loads, esp during peak hrs. Its also not meant for chionging around but for speedy travel in between bus stops. 54's routing allows for abit of chionging at marymount rd and paterson rd, but 56 is more point to point.Originally posted by 566117:Compare 54 with 56.

54 passes thru shunfu which is an older estate, and goes to chinatown/SGH as well. 56 goes to Toa payoh, and also goes little india. in terms of routing, both are not very suitable as neither passes thru enough hospitals/ old towns to urgently justify WABs. but 54 is a bit better as it goes near SGH. i'll still say 56 still stands a higher chance as its loading is higher, and toa payoh has far more old folks that shunfu. but AM/ BR services that really deserve K230UBs first would be 124 & 131, go through St mikes + bt merah -

IMO, 130, 139 and 145 top priority...124 will definitely get without doubt...131 would be later... esp 139...old folks living in toa payoh, whampoa, selegie (little india), bukit merah, alexandra road, lengkok bahru area...going thru PS, river valley and little india...

both are equally eligible but SBSt favours 55 and 56 slightly more than 54...but 54 is the thirdmost favored service in the bishan route group...does river valley have weird slopes? this could be a reason..16 went learning the K230s...but later they didnt get..SBST's reason Stadium area...abit weird though..i dun think Merdeka Bridge's 3.3m is very low or the roads have weird slopes with bends... -

I think River Valley could have up and down slopes? But SBST does give wierd reasons for not giving K230s to a service. -
aiyah now the problem is now the front bumper. They have to thoroughly check the road conditions before putting the K230 on service.
So if the route has any ongoing construction sites around.. then it is less likely that it will receive the K230s anytime soon.
btw a front bumper costs 3K. -

around the area there is 51 and 80..isnt it alot..adding on upcoming 63 and the variety of WAB buses of 174 which plies near chinatown...awful lot of WAB services? but the fact remains that chinatown is made of mainly the elderly -

Maybe 33 would also get them shortly. But I wonder if the slopes around Kent Ridge can be suited for the K230. Most likely yes since B10TL has done 10 and arrived at Kent Ridge in 1 piece. Is the bumper of the K230 lower than the B10TL? -
