[Locked] SBS Transit orders 900 buses from Scania (Part 1)

  Spotted a Service 100 K230 front 'shorted' EDS while plying Service 100 route yesterday...

  The EDS kept changing between Service 100 route details & off-service...

  Yes, they were pax on board...

  will SBST be using the K230 for the Singapore Airshow Expo/Hotel shuttle since it is charging S$5 per trip?

  They got SD/DD for the pasir ris shuttle. For Expo shuttle, i think they use MK IV DM/DM3500/strider? But for this year, maybe they will use K230 for the Expo/Hotel shuttle. For pasir ris shuttle, think will use any available buses.

  Am i right to say that current services that run perm MBO405s will eventually be replaced by the new Scanias?

  Btw...when r they phasing out all MBO405s?

  Depends , anyway , think by 2010 onwards they will slowly phase out after the Scania CRB's

  if they dun extend the CRBs would be gone by May next year..

  im will be delighted if they are not extended...0405s get another extension? why not?

  imo O.405 are in better condition then the CRB's.. so maybe they deserve to stay after all. but they got stinky exhaust...

  The government has already mentioned about extending statutory lifespan of existing buses to allow bus companies to tweak slowly to the 10 minutes frequency. So I guess it's up to the bus company to decide. But if they extend for them to improve service standards, why not?

  I would love the merc 0405 DM both OAC & CAC to extend their lifespan...

  An unidentified Scania K230UB was seen plying along Bedok South Rd at around 12 plus.

  There are 5 possibilities:

  1) Svc 12
  2) Svc 38
  3) Svc 229
  4) Prem 575
  
  I can see the word gong xi fa cai from afar.

  Anyone see that as well?

  Hope its Svc 38 or something? Or maybe K230UB is coming to BNDEP soon! WOOHOO!

  Actually, a lot of services are being trained for WAB with the Scania buses. It doesn't really mean anything anymore. ):
