For Sengkang side, either service 156 or 163 uses K230UBs.
And wef today, service 119 joins in the K230UB gang too.
For past few days, seems like 1 new service gets K230UB deployments...
Monday
service 24
Tuesday
service 156
Thursday
service 163
Friday
services 105, 183
Saturday

Some off service new K230s EDS loop between "OFF SERVICE" and "MERRY CHRISTMAS"(instead of "SBS TRANSIT") ![]()
now not all teh kub have been released yet, so everywhere gets scania. once all teh kub have been released, and sbst's new fleets of probable B7R's and MAN 18.240 come in, then the kub's and all the other fleets will be shifted around. at least this is wad i think la. cos now we have like mercs base in amdep, scanias in bndep, volvo in hgdep, leylands in slbp, etc etc.

Its their trend.. first - throw the new bus in every depot. Following which rationalise to 2 to 3 depot after say 5-7 years so that better economies of scale in terms of mx can be achieved.
However, the Mk4 DM3500 aint rationalised yet, though bndep currently holds the most in terms of number comparison.
i see.. i wld like to have more dm3500's on sv 27 luh. i mean, not as a "i want" to happen thingy but is cos of its passing by changi airport, and the bc having to keep a tight schedule. the dm3500's can run faster than the striders and dm's.

This is good enough to suggest to SBS Transit.
i wonder if they would use K230UBs as the successor to Mark IIIs to replace the JB fleet.

When SBS bought 500 units of Merc AC buses in 1991, the buses were initially scattered in all the depots. That was also the time when SBS progressively started introducing partial AC fleets to its existing trunk services.
Movements started only when Volvo MK3s came into service in 1993, HGDEP and BBDEP/ARBP then gave up all the Merc buses to other depots. BNDEP gave up the Mercs at a later stage when the Volvo MK4 Striders/DMs came into service in 1995. After which only JRBP (now SLBP), AMDEP/BRBP have the Merc buses. Whereas the Volvos are mainly given to BNDEP, BBDEP, ARBP and HGDEP.
Unlike Tibs, when they bought those secondary models like Scanias, DAFs, Lances and Hinos, there were automatically assigned to its respective depots upon registeration (except for TIB905Y and TIB950R)
Still not sure about the Scania K230UB deployments though, there were scattered in all the SBST depots except for BNDEP so far. Just wait till the MAN buses also comes into revenue service.

And now service 119 is another service that have possible chance to come across Volvo B9TL and Scania K230UB WAB cameos.
If only services 119, 156 and 163 gets more K230UB perms (like 3-4 fleets per service) then Sengkang will have more K230UBs parked inside liao.

I am inclined to think that amdep and bram had a sizable amount of Mk3s, particularly for bram, which needs the Mk3s for the Sentosa services (and 56, 90, 142, 145, 152, 155 and later 410 after PAC).

Have the MK4 DM and Strider been rationalised? Anyway, If they rationalise DM3500, I hope that the DM3500s in BNDEP will remain. But SLBP had a recent clearout of DM3500s and there are only 7 DM3500s in SLBP.

Every depot has VO3x so isn't every depot a Volvo Depot? It has once been reported that BNDEP VO3x went to AMDEP for external maintainence.

Er, we actually do aware of it... =)
SBS8455U is back on service 52, whereas SBS8109U is on service 119 (someone mentioned it as perm??).
As for service 163 it seems that it does not have a stable Scania K230UB fleet as yet. Will have at least 1-2 Scanias on service 163 a day, but different buses will be deployed there. And also sometimes like do have no Scanias on service 163 at all.
Not sure about service 156 though.
