There are many variations for ZF 6HP.

2nd batch from 8132 to 8532 (exclude 8138). So the last 100 buses is from 8433 to 8532.
So 8033 is consider demonstrator? Like what SBST did with 9200 (get 201 VO3x batch 1s)

Can save space.. and we are still waiting for him to design that "low floor all the way to the back" bus leh.. someone given him an assignment to design that but now still no news. Maybe he still cracking his brain to think...
haha oh yes! maybe his design use supermarket trolley wheels too.

but most probably B9TL and K230UB use the same gearbox (ZF 6HP502C). the model of gearbox used can be deduced by looking at the specs, the maximum torque part. buses with diff max torque use diff gearboxes. with the B7RLE max torque at 1200nm, it's most suited to use the 6HP592C gearbox, as 6HP502C is more suited for engine torque of max 1100nm, while K230UB max torque is only at 1050nm, therefore the best gearbox for it is the 6HP502C. our B9TL has a max torque of 1100nm, therefore it uses the most suitable gearbox available for it, which is the 6HP502C. the new OC500LE will be using 6HP592C, with a max torque of 1250nm.
Back to Scania K230UB deployments, so far this week no new additional services that have Scania K230UBs? Last service to get them was service 53.
And now doesn't seems to have any of them on services 52 and 156 ![]()

8033 is a pretty obvious demo

ok, that means that SBST will now have 501 scanias (8033 to 8532, 8888) instead of 500.

And one for the sport cars, the ZF 6HP26. 0-100 kph in 5-7 secs if the car is powerful enough.
After a few weeks on the scania of bus service 185. I want the mercs back. The acceleration is slow, it noisy, it capacity seem reduce, it not smooth, it just not as good. At first, was excited about the new fleet of buses on 185 but few weeks later I just want the mercs o405 back.
Do you think svc 65, 66 and/or 93 may be the next to have KUB?
Service 65 K230UB from ARBP/BBDEP
Service 66 K230UB from SLBP
Service 93 K230UB from ARBP/BBDEP![]()

Forget about it. The mercedes will be retired to make way for k230ubs.
SBS594D :
Forget about speculating, there are still around slightly more than 200 over k230ub buses to go before the deployment of all the 500 k230ub buses is completed.

I was also initially excited about the K230s when the first few units came in. But now I hate K230s to the core. Its not only the gearbox that is noisy. The engine is noisy too. I rather have NAC Mark IIs. Even a 20 year old Mark II can acclerate faster than a K230.
U guys haf to just liv with it lar sooner or later sure get used to da new scanias

Service 65 K230UB from ARBP/BBDEP
The reason why all SDs were removed from 65 was because of the demand.

I thought just 1 month ago an SD 65 rammed into the back of a DD 111?

I had seent he loading in the morning. K230Ub are able to load more passengers than mercz. Due to less seats but more standing area. K230UB are good for such service which had high load just only the first few stops and empty after that. To benefit those people staying in JW st 23 to board the bus, K230UB would be better than mercz.

So far the general public view of K230s on airport services wasn't too good. Alot of people are complaining that there are lesser seats, meaning they got to stand for the journeys throughout the expressways.
I hope that with K230 on airport services, fleet addition can occur so as to
1) reduce the waiting time
2) give more seats to tired passengers who have taken a long journey on the plane.

It may be better for those with luggages coz merc's steps and narrow aisle is not exactly very ideal for luggages.
Why not SBST install luggage racks on the new K230UBs for the airport services?? It can be installed on the space on top of where the front wheels are situated. It will maximise the amount of space used in the us.

Maybe they can use one of the wheelchair spaces to install a rack. I still have not seen 2 disabled people on a single bus yet.

This shows that Mark IIIs and Mark IVs are best for Airport services. You would'nt want to see our tourists standing.

Those high demand feeders can get it. Pack more people standing, but you stand for a very short journey. Super high demand like 145 can also get it. Right now, I find Mark IIIs and Mark IVs on feeders wasteful. All Mark IIIs and Mark IVs should be put on longhaul/expressway.

not 145. no to K230UB for any Toa Payoh Int end on service.
