This is excatly what I have said. I rather have a 15 years old Mark III rather than a K230. Mark III good acceleration.
To add on, I think all Airport Services should use Mark III or Mark IV. Tourists and our locals who came down from the plane are tired and will need a seat on the highway. Today I saw 2 svc. 34 buses, one a Mark IV and one a K230UB. The Mark IV was about 3/4 seated which is just nice and so good for service 34. But when I saw the K230, I see people miserably standing.

Lets stop this arguement. For DD, SBST can buy buses like B10TL. You should know that a B10TL's floor is slopped to the back, which is good.

haha, they can consult the "Lao Jiao"(Expereinced) BC from Svc 100 & Svc 174.

Yea but usually by the second day of service the BCs will be more familarised with the controls. Usually one can expect to see BCs braking very hard on the Scanias, engaging parking brake everywhere they stop, pressing buttons here and there on the first day of service...
It takes time to learn. :)

Sian. More and more K230 going into AMDEP. More and more Merc going into SLBP. :(
Well, just wish the Merc that have gone into SLBP the best... and hopefully (I pray very hard for this) that SLBP can maintain them well like how AMDEP maintained them previously, and DON'T REMOVE THE DRESS RIMS!
Don't think it matters... they're off to the scrapyard in time to come.

Firstly, how many tourist and locals takes buses with their bulky luggage? Secondly, why would they be tired from sitting on a plane for at least an hour, if they really are tired, dont u think they glad to board a bus without lugging a luggage up the 2 steps onto the Mk III and Mk IVs? Thirdly, where do u put the luggage if u carry it on the Mk III and Mk IV? I think that would block other passengers instead.
I believe most of the ppl who use the buses are airport staff or friends & family who sent someone off. Tourist will take trains, or taxis in my opinion.

Hopefully the Mercs remain in a good condition when they are there in slbp. Crucial word is hopefully.

Eh, almost every driver who drives a new type of bus will feel that, even those on 100 and 174. Same thing happened for B9TLs, it will just take time for driver to get used to the buses, no need for consultation or crap.

Seriously, why would one be tired after seating on a plane for so long? I certainly don't feel tired after a long plane ride. Maybe a little lertargic, but not to the extent that my legs will be all wobbly when there's no seat. I think this guy made a good point. Most tourist can't be bothered to find out which bus goes to where because our taxis and the MRT (which btw, is very convinient and easy to navigate) is easily avaliable.
And tell me, where do you store all the bulky luggages if any tourist were to be bothered to take the bus (not the KUB ones). And I think bus rides to the city (where most tourists go to) is too long, coupled with the hassle of transfering buses. I think this guy is right again in the sense that people who take the bus to the airport is usually local. Mostly people living in the East.
I know some tourist still take the bus, but in general, most would rather take other means of transport. That's the sad fact.

Jet lag? Encountered that after a 5 hours flying time.

Normally tourists who comes to Singapore will choose to take a taxi, some of which may just follow the tour buses. It is mainly the local Singaporeans who will utilise the buses and the MRT to and from the airport. Based on my observations ![]()
Not like in Japan where there are airport limousine services to take pax to several parts of the district. And these limousines are very well utilised even by the tourists too.

Haha, I've been to Japan last year and find the so called "Limos" are very efficient. They don't crawl on the road neither do they go round in circles before reaching the airport. Still, I think it's a classy name for a bus. People may mistake them as real Limos. Haha
