Take a bicycle tire for example . If you leave the bicycle tire untouched over a period of time , the tire will lose its pressure , and hence deflates. The valve infact , is not completely airtight .Originally posted by ZYX2005:somehow i have never quite figured out why when u leave the bus stationary, the air just run out of the suspension system. hahah
I think the description of the tachometer is wrong. Instead, i think you are refering to the odometer. A tachometer shows the engine's speed / Revolutions Per Minute (RPM). It varies between gasoline vehicles and diesel vehicles. Gasoline driven vehicles have higher RPM compared to a diesel one.Originally posted by ZYX2005:this one i dunno.
tachometer
this one measures how far a bus traveled since it was made. poor thing tends to reset many times as bus run n run. some bus companies take note of start n end tacho nnumbers to determine if the bus run a lot or little and then use the info to improve bus running time efficiency.
Thats because diesel engines have longer strokes than petrol engines . An engine with a long stroke has reduced RPM , but increased torque . Thats why diesel engine tend to have lesser HP , but much higher torque than petrol engines.Originally posted by Ferrari_RoXz:I think the description of the tachometer is wrong. does all bus have turbo? older bus have or not ar?Originally posted by TIB1224Y:There should be also a turbo gauge, but I am not sure of its existence.
No . The Mercedes Benz O405 (SBST) does not have turbo . As for older buses, im not too sure . But i know that the Mercedes Benz O305 does not have turbo too.Originally posted by MyPillowTalks:does all bus have turbo? older bus have or not ar?![]()
uncle... tachometer measures the revolutions per minute of the cylinders in the engine.. while ODOmeter measures the total distance travelled..Originally posted by ZYX2005:this one i dunno.
i know of speedometer (speedo)

suspension air/fluid pressure meter
this one is quite famous in our volvo B10M buses , when driver start shift he has to rev the bus engine to charge up the air / fluid in the bus suspension to a certain amount before he is allowed to moe off.
when charging u see the arrow jump from 0 to a sigle digit number say 3 then back to 0, the meter will continue the bouncing fashion until it stick to a required number then the bus can move off. that is why sometime u see driver rev n rev the bus cuz the poor bus air suspension gone down below the required value.
somehow i have never quite figured out why when u leave the bus stationary, the air just run out of the suspension system. hahah
air suspension is bus is to provide us a comfortable bus ride because the air in the suspension will cushion the road bumps as bus roll n roll over them. some suspension system use fluid form eg some liquid.
fuel meter
this one any vehicle got larh
digital gas fuel meter counter
this one only gassy got.
