What is the model of this old single deck aircon bus?
MingFreeman
It is a leyland single deck air con bus. I remembered seeing it in the late 80s and early 90s.
I recall that it used to ply on the old services 3 (Bedok to Jurong East) and 31 (Tamp to Kallang)
Its unique because the service number is not displayed near the top of the bus but it is displayed on the dashboard behind the windscreen near to the entrance door.
Anyone knows that bus model?

okok make very clear here
Technically they are called Guy Victory mark 2s. Leyland ate up Guy so is become Leyland Victory.
the dash use Leyland component. in fact look like lo3x dash if u see old picture.
The Guy Victory mark 2 were chassis built in United Kingdom Britain and then ship to Singapore for Soon Chow .
a certain batch of the Guy Victory came ckd for soon chow to build with British Aluminium Company (BACO) bodywork parts for Soon how to see blue print follow n build.
So got soon chow one n BACO one.
Then much later in 1988 SBS decided to ask Soon Chow to convert some BACo n Soon Chow Victory to air-con one. thus one of the first few CACs done here.
Soon Chow basically stripped the bus back down to chassis n rebuild the body from scratch using a familiar coach like bodywork of that time to re build the bus.
about 14 or 15 units were CAC. the rest carried on as metal rattling on-air-con noisy buggers till late 1993 when all were phased out at one go.

the desto used in front is a throw back to the early coach like front styles of the merc OFs of 170 in 1980.
same as then SBS31xx mercs on 170, the box is a lighted desto box and u place a rather squarish number there.
official term i guess is called (lighted) box desto
