Yup. 138 previously was from Yio Chu Kang Ter (Ave 6, then turn right to Ave 5). It was later amended to originate from Ang Mo Kio Int, and used Aves 5 and 8. Then, 138, 265 and 267 were the only 3 services to right-turn into Ang Mo Kio Int saw-tooth berths. 159 plied from ang mo kio - toa payoh to ang mo kio - toa payoh(loop) and to toa payoh - sengkang. the old 159 used to ply ang mo kio ave 3,6 and ave 1 and its current route to toa payoh.
159 was toa payoh - ang mo kio (loop), not the other way round.
From Toa Payoh after Ave 1, it turns into Ave 8 (like 22/24) and heads into the Int. After letting pax alight, it immediately heads to 159 saw-tooth berth to pick up berth (hence the loop), then exits at Ave 3 before heading to Aves 6 and 1 (like 133/136) before heading back to Toa Payoh. -

Service 159 when extended to Sengkang in 2001 was dual AMDEP and HGDEP control, somehow became full AMDEP and became a Toa Payoh - Sengkang loop service in 2002. Service 159 then became a full HGDEP in 2005 and revert back to Sengkang - Toa Payoh service. -

i remembered when 138 was amended to ply ave 6 and turn left to ave 5 from ang mo kio int, the 2 bus-stops at ave 5 that 138 used to serve when it was taking ave 8 and 5 got sealed off until 45 came. -

Orginal route was Princess Elizabeth to Prince Edward Rd Ter (when Prince Edward Ter relocated to Shenton way), 193 called at the Shenton Way Ter instaed. -

I realised that many routes last time are handed over to TIBS. Eg. 169, 171
How exactly do that happen? Any reason for the event? Does the company put up a notice stating like 169 or 171 is going to be handed over to TIBS? -

171 was handed over to Tibs on 5th Nov 1995. First to use Bendy (TIB838H) in Jun 1996. -

They don't have a choice. They can't simply change all the routes with their own because it'll confuse the residents, and it needs PTC approval anyway.
