No. It merged with 185. 175 didnt merge with any service. It undergone a route amendment and was renumbered as 975 instead.Originally posted by hiphop2009:175 u mean?
No. 225 was created by Singapore Bus Services in the 1970s. I daresay that there are tons of services which predate 225.Originally posted by TWS4793:1a) Is Service 225 currently the oldest surviving service?
b) Which company actually introduced Service 225? Was it Singapore Traction Company (STC)?
Ya precisely , maybe because the demand wasn't good thats why. It only exitsted for 21months!Originally posted by patdog112:why smrt go withdraw 989?

Hi Tamago,Originally posted by ^tamago^:Prince Edward Rd. Today's Shenton Way Terminal.
Service 172: Plied between Lim Chu Kang terminal and Prince Edward Rd (Shenton Way) terminal. Later shortened to loop at Jln Anak Bt.
Amended to start from Boon Lay interchange to loop at Jln Anak Bt in 1993, with the re-introduction of service 175, which took over 172's Lim Chu Kang Rd sector.
Amended to ply Sungei Tengah Rd, Brickland Rd and Choa Chu Kang Ave 3, when parts of Choa Chu Kang Rd was closed in stages.
Handed to tibs in Dec 1999 and on the same day, shortened to Choa Chu Kang interchange.
The demand wasn't good part was an excuse by TIBS I guess. Actually it was quite silly of them to withdraw 989. Kind of legendaryOriginally posted by swee_heng:Ya precisely , maybe because the demand wasn't good thats why. It only exitsted for 21months!
I see. Thanks!Originally posted by The_Bus_Guide:Hi Tamago,
The pictures are very nice. Well done. Prince Edward Terminal and today's Shenton Way Terminal are located at different places. The former was located at Prince Edward Link while the latter is at Palmer Road, which is 1 junction further down. Prince Edward Terminal was where you would alight to get to Finger Pier, the place to catch a ferry (to Indonesia, I think) before it was moved to World Trade Centre. Services from Prince Edward were re-located to Shenton Way.
They wanted to force ppl up the trains.Originally posted by swee_heng:Ya precisely , maybe because the demand wasn't good thats why. It only exitsted for 21months!
