I doubt it. Those buses had no ticketing equipment on board and were used exclusively on 170 during TMO era.Originally posted by Apex-LW'21:And some of the Volvo B57s ever did served 170 before redeployed on 361,365 & 367 during its final years before dereg & shipped to Ireland.
in one of Danny Chan's HK bus handbook i bought in the mid 90s, there's a picture showing a DD bus undergoing tilt test. the DD bus was on a severely tilted platform and yet the bus managed to maintain its stability without overturning! simply amazing.Originally posted by sbst275:Shin Ming Daily today got posted pic of launch of DDs on Sv 86 in '77
But not many dared to take, fearing the bus of ovrturn
SBS UDs! hahaha...The old sv. 3 is one of the first, if not the first, to use the UD. I remember taking my first AC bus ride with my family on a UD from Bedok to Jurong East in 1986. It was funny. At first I was happy like a bird but it later turned out to be a nightmare. It was a sweltering hot day and the AC then was not like the AC we have now. The bus was crowded and we were perspiring. After that ride, I never wanted to take the UD again and preferred the CAC Guy Victory instead.Originally posted by Volvo Olympian:Service 118 , 197 , 13 , 14 , 15 have those SBS UD's before.
Its funny when we think of it now but back then, people were not as exposed to technology as today. Singapore was still transforming from a rural community into an urban one. This case is just like when the first high rise flats were built. People refused to take the lift fearing they would get stuck inside.Originally posted by sbst275:Shin Ming Daily today got posted pic of launch of DDs on Sv 86 in '77

No. 23 did not use Sims Avenue. It was route 4 that used Sims Avenue.Originally posted by ^tamago^:67 was under SBS. it used to use PIE (a.k.a 23 route) and 23 used sims ave, but they swapped places later (still under SBS).
67 and 77 were handed over in 1999.
i think alan meant 67 use PIE as epxress sector before it come do follow the MRT lineOriginally posted by Yusry:No. 23 did not use Sims Avenue. It was route 4 that used Sims Avenue.
67 merged with route 4 to form current route 67 on the same day route 21 merged with route 4.
In other words routes 21 + 67 = former route 4.
