Most powerful buses on the roads?

Took a Dennis Lance on Sv 965 a few months back and it sped around 80-85km/h along Gambas Ave and TPE/SLE

so many SG buses slow.
we all have to relate to experiences, months ago, 2-3yrs ago. -
Trident wasted lah. Performance curbed until so jialat.

Then i alight at Bukit Panjang , the BC gave me a thumbs up with a smiley face. -

TIB465A. Most BCs who drove it before said its one of the easiest and fastest Box Merz ever. And on 911 this one is speed machine driven by speed demon

try 67 at weekdays nights around 2200 to 2300 ( last bus ) u will have a nice experience

Seriously, the old Scania N113CRBs are quite powerful once the turbo kicks in..
And O.405 also very chiong-able..
The only B10M which I think is as quick as the O405 is the Mk2 and Mk3s..Mk4 starts to feel heavier..
The new Scania K230UB seems to be quite accelerative..I would say on par with the O405! Maybe because it's still new and it's turbocharged while the O405 is naturally-aspirated..but one thing though, the K230UB's 5-cylinder in-line diesel engine vibrates quite a lot for a new bus..all the interior fittings like the grabpoles and chairs were rattling away whenever the bus accelerates..
Added: As for double-decks, I firmly think that the B9TL has the best acceleration thanks to it's powerful engine and the kick-ass ZF 6-speed gearbox..
There was once I was on SBS7455B on svc. 80..the BC chiong-ed after the red light turned green, and it managed to accelerate at the same pace with the other cars around it! Which shows that it's acceleration can match other saloon cars..superb.. -

I dare say that the K230UB pick up was more better than O405s but slack on top speed.Provided SBST dun tightened the pick up

Reason is simple..when night falls, air becomes cooler..and as we all know from science lessons, cold air sinks..so when the air become cooler, more air sinks to the ground level..
And we also know internal combustion engines (regardless of petrol or diesel) need air to combust the fuel..and the more air, the better (hence the invention of turbocharger/supercharger)..
So when vehicles travel at night, more cool air goes into the engine..and when more air goes into the engine, it creates a natural kind of turbocharger/supercharger effect..and plus the fact the air is cooler at night, it's even better for diesel engine..a natural "intercooler"!!!

A few Kelvins difference in temperature at night would have negligible effect on your painstakingly constructed explanation of a combustion engine.
Its just the fact that roads are emptier at night and scheduled public buses have shorter run times, necessating it to cover the same distance in a shorter time hence greater average speed. -

And ask ANY experienced drivers and MOST of them will tell you that their cars indeed feels more powerful at night or early in the morning in the wee hours..A drop in a few degrees Celsius does indeed makes a difference, but the difference ain't very big..
And if the SLIGHT increase in power can be felt in small capacity engines like a 1.6-litre engine, I see no reason why the increase in power at night or early in the morning cannot be felt in a big capacity engine like the 9- to 11-litres diesel engines in buses..

Errm.. sorry to disturb but I suggest u to take in the night because the traffic in the night are smoother without jam and also lesser passengers along the stops.. I understand ur facts but I dun think it would affect alot.. I just love the feeling of the Volgren bodied 0405G, for example, 1182J.
Yeah, the feeling of acceleration forces pushing you against the seats, that is quite sensational.
Just try not to be the standing passenger...
Regarding the Lance, its just simply fast... Took 1009C yesterday and it was really an 'express feeling'... -

OK, if you do not know, let me repeat my story.
Both SBS 9070P and SBS 3649K (cameoing on Townlink 222) were about to arrive at Bedok Interchange. SBS 3649K was in front of SBS 9070P.
The BC of SBS 9070P took the chance to overtake SBS 3649K. And he did.
