No . Not the same . 'Your' 9199C overtook 2 buses , a Scania N113CRB CAC & a SMRT OAC Merz.Originally posted by TWS4793:Speedy SBS 9108R overtaking TIB 0962G!![]()

I see .Originally posted by nenepokey:TIB1011U's gear-slippage problem has been solved for a period of time. i hav the recording of it. not bad actually. basically i lyk SBS9151P(AMDEP 16and SBS9191Z(SLBP SP). 9151, when chiong-ing on TPE and SLE, overtaking other vehicles. 9191, when cameoing on 157 and driven by an old uncle. he juz looked straight and chiong on lornie at abt 70km/h
Nope. I just watched the video... the acceleration sounds more like our Scania L113CRLs, while the deceleration sounds like the Dennis Lances. No matter what, the Scanias and Lances both use ZF gearbox, so the sound would probably be similar.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:I see .
Anw heres a video of a ZF DAF SB220 . The bus has the same engine as SG's DAF i think .

I mean the engine block is the same as SG DAF , not the engine sound.Originally posted by Oceane:Nope. I just watched the video... the sound sounds more like our Scania L113CRLs.
SMRT's DAF SB220LTs use Voith gearbox... their engine sound is abit (not totally) like the Hispano Voith bendies or the Voith O405s in SBST.
Hmm I would say quite a bit for the acceleration sounding for the ZF MKIIIs.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:I mean the engine block is the same as SG DAF , not the engine sound.![]()
Eh i beg to differ . I somehow think that the DAfs sound more like mk3s .
The new additions to 179 fleet are those that CMI, like 9021G. However, as long as BC floors the bus, it will still sound great, especially if you sit on lower deck back row.Originally posted by SBS 233 X:To west-siders, 179 got any CMI LO3x?

Sorry for the confusion. I mean the SMRT DAFs sound more like MKIIIs . Their way of shifting gears are very similar since they have the same gearbox, the Voith DIWA 381.4Originally posted by Oceane:Hmm I would say quite a bit for the acceleration sounding for the ZF MKIIIs.
BTW which DAF you referring to? The DAF in the video or SMRT's DAFs?

1257C also same. They purposely make it slip so that the SL dont drag the pick up or whack top speed ruthlesslyOriginally posted by nenepokey:TIB1011U's gear-slippage problem has been solved for a period of time. i hav the recording of it. not bad actually. basically i lyk SBS9151P(AMDEP 16and SBS9191Z(SLBP SP). 9151, when chiong-ing on TPE and SLE, overtaking other vehicles. 9191, when cameoing on 157 and driven by an old uncle. he juz looked straight and chiong on lornie at abt 70km/h
Which bus service you drive?Originally posted by carbikebus:Do you believe that my ex-SBS850P has overtook and overrun SBS9199C on TPE B4?TIB962G are lock till 65 km only.I've driven 747L overtook that 9199 & 1 88 VOs at TPE.
TIB582U on Sv 965 will beep a sound continously when the limit speed has been reached. Is it locked or the beep is used as a warning? Because that time, the SL keep on tap on the pedal and the sound beep continously along TPE/SLE and felt that the bus is moving faster than normalOriginally posted by carbikebus:1257C also same. They purposely make it slip so that the SL dont drag the pick up or whack top speed ruthlessly

850P and 815S are some of the MKIIIs I like to ride on.Originally posted by carbikebus:Do you believe that my ex-SBS850P has overtook and overrun SBS9199C on TPE B4?TIB962G are lock till 65 km only.I've driven 747L overtook that 9199 & 1 88 VOs at TPE.
Throw in some of the DAFs too.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:A warning .Some 171 OAC merc also like that. Beep is on but bus still speed even faster.

Oh yes DAFs have the beep sound too (Long time never ride on DAF ever since 852 given full control to AM)...Originally posted by sBs_boy:Throw in some of the DAFs too.
But its level of comfort is on par with Merz . Quite comfortable to ride on .Originally posted by Oceane:Oh yes DAFs have the beep sound too (Long time never ride on DAF ever since 852 given full control to AM)...
But I find DAF's acceleration rather slow, however it can go at high speeds on straight roads or expressways. Voith gearbox?![]()

I think thats all, but do note that certain batches of lances somehow has much different ride comfort levels, eg TIB906 vs TIB939. 906 feels like the bus has totally no suspension. 939 is the direct opposite. One way to identify the batches are to look at the poles. Yellow painted vs metal. Weird.Originally posted by Scania N113CRB luver:But its level of comfort is on par with Merz . Heres a list of bus models in terms of comfort levels . Top is most wanted , below is least wanted to take. Buses are all rigids , for SMRT side only.
1) Mercedes Benz O405
2) DAFs
3) Scania Striders
4) Hinos
5) Dennis Lance
6) ELBOs
7) Nissans
Any bus i left out ?
