9131Y has recently gotten new engine too. But I haven't take it yet to see if it is more powerful..Originally posted by stooper:The best buses are 9111E & 9128H, they have new engines. I believe 9121B on 242 also has new engine, the engine and gear change howls sound exactly like 9128H.
With Leyland already bought over by Volvo, how on earth do they get new Leyland engines?Originally posted by stooper:9131Y has recently gotten new engine too. But I haven't take it yet to see if it is more powerful..
I'm not sure. BC only say is new engine. BTW, the Leylands are powered by Cummins engines. Not sure if they got back the same model or a newer model.Originally posted by off_service:With Leyland already bought over by Volvo, how on earth do they get new Leyland engines?
Do you mean refurbished or overhauled?
I suspect SBS 9072J too.. Super acceleration..Originally posted by stooper:9131Y has recently gotten new engine too. But I haven't take it yet to see if it is more powerful..
Top overhaul i believe with almost all new parts.Engine compartment still the same.Only gearbox can change.Unless its new engine..Originally posted by stooper:I'm not sure. BC only say is new engine. The engine sounds different both externally and internally as well.Originally posted by carbikebus:Top overhaul i believe with almost all new parts.Engine compartment still the same.Only gearbox can change.Unless its new engine..
SBS 9030 E was former AMDEP SP...Originally posted by sbs&tibs:SBS9030E is a good bus. Can you imagine a heavy steering bus described like a Mercz?
Come on chickenlittle2, although you are an EXTRA regular passenger of slbp buses, please be more open and impartial, slbp buses aren't the best. Even if there are good buses, how many can you use to compare with buses from other depots? I am not saying slbp maintains lousy buses, just that buses from other depot usually perform better, you see. Travel more on other buses with an open heart, gain more experiences, this way you may realise how much lacking are there in slbp buses. Every depot have their strengths and weaknesses. slbp may be the LO paradise, but not all the LOs can be compared with amdep ones. All depends on how well the depots maintain the buses. Living in the area with buses deployed majority from the certain depot doesn't mean you have to agree with their buses. Only by travelling you will know which buses can really perform well.
I don't deny S179 LOs are performing well. SBS9049C currently is the one that "cannot be compared" with the rest of the other S179 LOs.![]()
Yes I know. The bus was already good when it was under amdep. Just as long its performance doesn't disappoint me after leaving amdep.Originally posted by Oceane:SBS 9030 E was former AMDEP SP...
