... that our dearest "most budget saving cost to the extent of NEGLECTING the needs of the commuters" CEO, Mdm Saw Phaik Hwa, is 1 of the top 25 MOST POWERFUL businesswomen in Singapore?!?

Extracts from the magazine, The Executive, March 2008, issue 16.Saw Phaik Hwa (CEO, SMRT Corporation)
She is not media-shy and has attracted general admiration from others for her spunk and candid personality. She is also a board member for Singapore Management University, The Esplanade and Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
Power factor: With public transport issues under fire in Singapore today, there is no better time for this female dynamo to flex her muscles. When she is not busy fighting off merger speculation, she is implementing EFFECTIVE transport systems for the man on the street. She is also the first female CEO for SMRT which was previously headed only by military chiefs.
OMG how should I go about believing this? ![]()

I also quite shocked to see and believe this when I attended the YIP (Young Investor Pack) seminar at NTU this morning and I received this magazine inside the goodie bag... Wondering who else over here also went for the seminar... Hmm...

Most powerful cause she managed to make such a initially well doing big company into a lousy company.
Not media shy and attracts many people cause she has already attracted so much media when things go wrong.

1. One of the seats on SBS 9471R has a netted seat pocket. This feature is similiar to all of the seats of some of the old private buses.
2. I wanted to highlight this sometime ago but I did not. It has been noticed that many SBST BCs do not endorse their waybills. Alongside the letter about S197's transfer to BNDEP at Bedok Interchange Information Counter, there were two to three such letters about the issue. I believe that the letters may have been removed.
