I'm afraid if you look at SBS 9820S, the ads have been changed to Uniquely Singapore. And yes, the LED panels' still there.Originally posted by SBS3688Y:Tiger Beer was the biggest client of SBST since last year till currently (including change of ads design and colour) - and been advertising for already a year++! and Tiger Beer is the first and only client using LED ads panels on SBST double deckers till currently.![]()

Are they overhauling the 0405s?Originally posted by chickenlittle2:SBS 484M really got a new gearbox.. Suspect it is the ZF gearbox..
Don't think so, many of the MKII's ZF are really used to worn-out point.Originally posted by ^tamago^:I wonder if it's the ZF gearboxes left over from cannibalising the outgoing Mk II's.
I believe that from the same type of bus model with the same engine, it would sound like a SMRT O405?Originally posted by SBS3625D:Don't think so, many of the MKII's ZF are really used to worn-out point.
But who knows? How's the ZF set on the 0405s? Is it like the VO3X or MKIV?
Not necessary. It depends on how the gearbox is tuned, and the individual characteristic of the ZF.Originally posted by Oceane:I believe that from the same type of bus model with the same engine, it would sound like a SMRT O405?
Different cos the engine don't sound the same on its own liao. Sit and you'll know. In fact I prefer SBST's.Originally posted by SBS3625D:Don't think so, many of the MKII's ZF are really used to worn-out point.

There are some differences between SBST's O.405s and SMRT's O.405s. SBST's O.405s are MkIs which has a default geabox of W3D 080R (for the earliest O.405s)/ W3E110/2.2R/W3E 112/2.2R/W4E112/2.2R (the latter three for later versions). SMRT O.405s are MkIIs which have a default gearbox of ZF 4/5HP500. There are also minor differences in the components they use, for example exhaust pipe (SBS161U seems to have a MkII exhuast pipe, hear it and you'll know why).Originally posted by Oceane:I believe that from the same type of bus model with the same engine, it would sound like a SMRT O405?

Where to find time to go and pong these buses?Originally posted by ^tamago^:Different cos the engine don't sound the same on its own liao. Sit and you'll know. In fact I prefer SBST's.
Actually I sit Mk II, they still run very well, and some of the gearboxes are damn solid.
It is tuned to lock-up at second gear (short first-gear).
