One more time i want to emphasize on it. Sv72 has a very gd freq. Due to the demand to AMK ITE and also Industrial areas make it demand is too high. If you notice, one Sv72 just close the door, the queue is getting out of the queue railings.
The freq of 72....can't really complain most of the time.
But after 1900, waiting for 72 will make you pull your hair out, and worst of all, the demand for 72 tends to subside less quickly leading to long queues both at YCK and Tampines.
So.....I have made the switch to 27 or 88 if I have to get home.
I think the sticker they ordered to replace SBS8290G haven't arrived yet.Originally posted by Simple_boi:There's no interior rego plate for SBS 8290 C?

He was saying peak hours. Take note the number of S-shift does sv72 got. Non-peak hrs, there more a lot more svc that have much worse freq.. Say eg. 119?

I know. But unlike most services, 72 exhibits unusually high demand even after evening peak hr.

I agreed upon
Sv 119 off peak frequency can range from the normally 17-18 mins to the horrendous 22-24 mins (Not Sunday morning or night period) partly due to the Bus Captains, some of those who will drive slowly while some who drives quite fast ![]()
I once remembered during a particular Sunday night, the frequency can be as long as 30mins as there are only 3 buses running during Sunday morning and night

Maybe it is the time for Vistarians to complain Sv119 freq. Afterall it is based on Vistarians' survey and others that make it possible for sv119. haha!!!
After the recent accident, SBS 8455U now has no SBS Transit logo above the SCANIA badge at the front. They painted it over.
Wow! SBS 9019P is now look like a VO3x batch 2 or 3. With now the new red colour aircon duct plus the exisiting red seats and the 2 yellow handrails at the front door.
hub reductions and Hypoids
ever look and stop and stare at a scania k230ub rear axle? ever notcied a cone shape object atatched to the axle n wheel?
ever wonder why when the Scania k230Ub hit 5thgear, you hear this hub reduction like sound?
hoho questions r answered here. i hope.
As we al are famailir with now, ub reductions are atatched to mainly Mercs and MAns to ensure the bus have a good wheel turning efficiency such that fuel is not wasted. these hubs make a whirll whirll sounds. take a merc u will notice thse sounds.
Hypoids are found in Scania k230Ub and our dear Volvo b7RLE Mark 3 bus. hypoids do he same function as hubs excpet that they are different by technical nature. i do not fully understand this, however they have just one aplanetary gear forming the hypoid. Hubs use two planetary gears.
so u can 'cal" a hypoid a single hub..(that is of cuz nonsense). but juz for ourselves to understand hypoids n hubs do the same thing.
So next time u hear the Scania go whirll whirll u know is the hypoids kicking in and they are of the same type of bus mechanism as Hubs.
gee i heard soemwhere the MAN 18.240HOCl-NL-R has a new gen of hubs that r so soft u can;t hear them...rats...i like hubs and hypoids sounds.
cheers
many thanks to Windy for pointing hypoids out to me.
