A dangerous hazard. If BC stay too close to it, it would shatter the windows on the upper deck and hurt passengers. Are the SBS DD BCs know or even breifed about the matter?

Dude... if they're not briefed, the BCs would have driven much closer to the fence. Moreover, it's much common sense that with such fences being set up, the BCs themselves should be aware that they may possess hazards to a certain extent.
I just found out that the front rims of SBS3870L is different from the usual Mercs

I don't think drivers will even stay close to the concrete barriers
From Monday, bus lanes will be implemented at five locations in the east, along Aljunied Road, New Changi Road, Upper Changi Road East, Simei Avenue and Tampines Avenue 5.
The move will allow buses to move more quickly during the peak hours from 7:30am to 9:30am and from 5pm to 8pm on weekdays.

as a frequent user of tampines ave 5, i have to say bus lanes implemented there aint gonna work well for all road users(cars/buses) as a whole.
1. bus from tamp int gotta switch left lane aft passing ave 4 junction
2. cars frm ave 4(15/21/27/168 route) gotta switch right lane to avoid bus lane
3. 554 doesnt even use lane 3 at all.
& i highly doubt it would even stick to the bus lane coz buses would be queueing along the bus stop & lane 3(not helping with bendy S67s & multiple S27s arriving).
4. a majority of buses have to switch to lane 1 to turn right into ave 1. yellow box is still there. but take note, now cars are more concentrated on lanes 1 & 2.
ultimately, what results is a greater car congestion but about similar bus travelling time than before. not much of a change. after the ave 1 junction, cars would be streaming to keep left to enter PIE. 5/10/17/31 would want to go str8. a slowdown results in allowing the buses to go straight in their bus lanes whilst cars wait to switch left. points 1 & 2 together already results in a chaotic situation.
be prepared for Tampines Ave 5 ERP gantry. ![]()
You mean from the Tampines Crtl CC the ave 5 onwards or where?

no. it's from the point after ave4/5 junction towards PIE. the 3-lane ave 5 region. bi-directional.

Common sense should not be taken for granted as common.![]()
And there's the unfortunate case of 9599G's run-in with a cherry-picker as a case-study.

You forgot the case of the Leyland Atlantean going smashy with Merdeka bridge in the 1980's.
If anybody's wondering, from what I heard, the driver of the bus usually did route 16, but on that day, he was assigned to a route 196 double-deck bus (the poor Leyland Atlantean in question). At the junction where route 16 turns from Nicoll Highway into the National Stadium area, he got confused and thought he was on route 16, went in there, and the smashy thing that happened next was recorded on a copy of The New Paper that has been lost to the annals of time.
Passive measures are not the way to ensure safe compliance. Either positon the protruding top part of the fence the other way round facing away from the road or construct the road barriers below to be wider and at least in line with the edge of the protruding thing to prevent tall vehicles from hitting it. And should an accident happen because of this, I wonder if the vehicle owner can sue the LTA for damages due to poor design and absence of warning or height-limitation signs. Even if all SBST BCs comply, what happens if a double-deck tour bus passes through and the driver fails to note the danger during that point of time?
In every workplace, can you guaranttee that all your workers will not commit any mistakes upon any instruction given to them? Why do accidents still happen despite drivers been made to go through driving theory tests, defensive driving, practical tests?

somehow when i sit at the seats near the BC in a DD bus, you hardly remember the presence of the upper deck whilst driving, honestly.

SLBP seems to be poor to upkeeping of SBS 2822 H. Anyway, is the add removed and the sofa seats removed. I wonder how NTU would feel when they know SBS keep their paid add bus in SP.

The sofa seats removed, normal seats used, interior same as other regular DM3500 except for the blue cloth on the Window panes which I mentioned earlier. This probably shows that the contract with NTU has expired.
