The number of short trips has been reduced significantly?!
besides from 162A, 15A is missing. is it also withdrawn on the same day 15B was withdrawn or more recently?

162A was withdrawn on Mon 25 Feb 08, together with the 24/162 xovers.
15A didnt exist ever since i started doing e-timetabling since mid-2006.

15B was withdrawn on Mon 8 Oct 07. On the same day fleet reduction occured and SBS 2819 T left.
SBS 9003J (SL 185) Seems to hav an Air Horn.. Sounds like K230UB?
try taking SBS2726. The suspension sucks totally, try it if it happens to cameo as it is currently SP of BNDPT

BNDPT??? it is BNDEP lah

okok...noted
TIB1037X the gearbox vibrates when it changes gear. Took it today and it just feels darn uncomfortable. Especially if the BC accelerates hard, the vibration is bad. It's particularly uncomfortable when it does its second gear change. I was sitting at the rear section of the bus. The front section not so bad lol, just can hear the vibration sound when changing gears.
Wonder how it is still on revenue service...hope it gets rectified soon.
also realised most B9TL's stickered livery, white portion all getting greyish le.

W3E, if I am not wrong, have a lock up gear as well, but would always occur on the first gear. A lock up is something like retaining the gear step, bringing the RPM close to its highest power output (torque on the lower end, horsepower on the higher end).ZF gearboxes have lock up on first or second gear. So far ZF and Mercedes gearboxes have the most notable lock up sounds. Whereas for what a lock up in gear can achieve, I am not sure. Some says its for retaining power (which I supported), others is for saving fuel.
One of the few champions for gear slipping and recommended is TIB516L, not repaired since its gearbox failure in 2005.
Gear slipping can lead to the increase wear of the gearbox components and higher fuel consumption.
Simply speaking, the main disadvantage of auto-gears is usually in the high rpm regime, where power loss becomes significant due to the torque converter. The lock-up clutch basically connects the engine and the driving axle after a certain speed to eliminate this loss.
So yes. It's for retaining power and saving fuel.
Why does the lock-up clutch disengage below a certain speed? That's because the engine would be killed if both axle and engine remain connected as the speed decreases. The other advantage of having such a arrangement is that the torque converter, as the name suggests, actually multiplies torque, and that's crucial for start-up.
memory is failing me. had mercedes svc-ed 100 bef?

hahah its not only limited to these sv 107 VO3's. those VO3 ive heard before with the ultra squeaky or soft horns i think are being replaced with the louder ones, although when pressed the bus doesent carry the sound vibration as like the scania horn. haha.
