There are 2 different versions of the Cool Air desto. The older batch (those 80XX, 81XX, 84XX and demos) have their side destos being 96x16, while the newer ones (those 82XX, 83XX and 8492L onwards (most probably)) are 96x20. There should be differences in the front desto and rear desto.

KUBs does not use destos but EDS, FYI. i think most buses in older batchs their EDS fonts is bolder but newer batchs like 83xx alot of them is still thinner.

(Dotz)....I use them interchangeably, its still the same, its an electronic desto. The 83XX are thinner because they have more dots vertically, and they are using the same font on the side as the older ones.

for those who didn't know:
if a BC wants to drive a DD or 997A, they must take an additional test.
another thing is there are 12 drivers who r able to drive 997A. they work on rotated shifts.
if u want to catch 997A, here r e afternoon timings:
1600hrs 1720hrs (+ / - 10mins)

perm timing for 997A adjusted from next week.
Sometimes 997A may cameo full day for weekends, and other split shift duties on weekdays. As long as the driver knows how to drive, it is able to cameo on any duty.

1713hrs from Punggol, 1 trip only. 1820hrs at Kallang. That is if on perm timing. There's like 11 other split shift duties that it can cameo on.
Most of svc 28's DD's front top 2 lights have been broken.SBS9166Y's both front top lights have been broken.SBS9484D's front top light in the driver row is broken.the other one in the front door row is still intact.SBS9174Z's front top 2 lights were also broken.but it is now SP AMDEP.SBS9080K's(157 SLBP) front top light on the front door row is also broken.i wonder what have happened to them.

likely to be contacted by thicker tree branchs that its height is equal to DD buses.
some 4.5m overhead bridges/crossings/barriers/flyovers dont look/match the actual 4.5m (+0.1 or so) limit at all; experienced this while travelling along dunearn road especially. u can feel how close the ceiling of the DD is to the railway bridge... overhead bridges usually dont have such a 'close contact' feeling =/

Till now, there are less than 12 Bc who drive 997A. Simply all S/E shift BC are able to drive but due to some already not driving sv62. And those transferred to sv62 S shift have yet to learn it. Although it got perm slot, it always does other slots instead due to some other reasons. =)

because of that white drain pipe parallel to railway bridge.

The 4.5m is the Height Limit that a particular vehicle can pass under them.
Its not to indicate the height of the bridge.

It is nice that 997A can run on other routes.
But please bear in mind that while the BC may be cleared to drive that bus, the bus is not cleared to ply that particular route.
So far, 997A could be plying on the following routes :
- 76
-174
-107 (nt sure if it can go thorugh Suntec)
*this are all based on previous deployment of the bus.but it seems that the route of 62 is the most suitable for the bus since it has been deployed on that route for so many years.

It takes them at least 2yrs of driving experience before the BC can be qualified to take the "test" or train for DDs.
whenever u sit most behind(the ones with headrest cushions) in B9TLs of lower deck, u can feel the heat blowing thru ur legs.
