Until we get some hard statistics here as to how large JP's catchment area is compared to how large Tampines Central's catchment area is, we can't really compare just how popular JP is compared to Tampines Mall/Century Square etc.
But speaking from a Tampines resident's POV, I guess we have been lucky that the authorities have had the foresight to improve Central 5 (the road leading to TM and CS carparks), from a two-way road to a totally one-way 2 lane road to a 3 lane road. As such, handling a large volume of traffic is no problem. The only problematic areas are the stretch of Ave 4 before the turn into Central 5, and the jam that occurs during peak hours when cars coming out of Central 6 have to deal with buses turning out of the interchange.
@chickenlittle2
Source for the statement that tenant rate at Tampines1 is not good? AFAIK Tampines1 has been 90% taken up. Nice choice of anchor tenants, with a nice mix of stuff that is new to Tampines. And I don't think people from Tampines would go to White Sands or DT East to shop, since there isn't anything there that Tampines Ctrl doesn't have. No one goes to Changi Airport to shop, because everything there has its price inflated. Anyone else from Tampines to back me up?
Given that Boon Lay is at the extreme West of Singapore and Tampines is close to the extreme East of Singapore, and for people like me living right smack at the North (Woodlands, Sembawang, Yishun etc.), most of us would rather go to the East to shop than the West.
Simple. From Yishun it's 30 mins by 969, Woodlands it's 30 mins by 168. Of which I don't see any reason why people from the North would rather flock to the West than the East when the East is so easily accessible by bus. Even if Pasir Ris was a popular shopping spot, 39 takes me from Yishun to there within 30 mins. Changi Airport? 858 direct.
Yes Tampines is a one-stop for all your shopping needs, but I've yet to see how Boon Lay displays that. And talking about tenant rents, if Tampines had an increase in tenant rent, I still have yet to see shops closing down.

CAC on 246, will we see AC bus on 251 too??? ![]()
Common to see BC didn't change rear desto when the bus went cameo on other bus services, it does not mean BNL Int will add in Express 502 to there... ![]()

sometimes they put conflicting destos, when in actual fact e bus is off svc.

Too many vehicles heading towards BNL Way => those waiting to turn right into BNL Ave/JW Ave 2 had to wait for the green turning arrow & had no choice but to block those heading towards Jln Bahar.
1. 157/174/198 need to cut across from 2 lanes to get to right turning lane
2. Some stop in/near bus bays for alighting of pax.
3. Some didn't care about the yellow boxes along Jln BNL.
4. Some did U-turn at BNL Ave junction to get to Petrol Stn entrance(twds BNL Way)

thats why 242 got many bus fleets including 179 xovers in the morning peak/evening peak. the serious jam timings at there is the opposite, towards AYE direction jams at morning peak, while towards Jln bahar direction jams at evening. 198 and 174 just need to stuck Jln Boon Lay between JW Central 3 and BNL Ave cos they are turning right to it.

I saw Service 920 evening crossover bus with Service 75 rear desto a few times, and Service 920 to 922 crossover bus but using Service 920 when it serves the crossover service.. ![]()
My friend saw an OAC Merc on Express 502 with 334 rear desto heading towards Marina Ctr...![]()
chickenlittle2 points are either irrelevant, shallow or moves on to other points but ends up irrelevant or shallow again.

Let's talk abt supermarket which practially every week pple need to go, Prime,Giant,Sheng Siong, NTUC + Xtra and some small one like Shop & Save. Lets talk abt near JP mall like IMM, West Mall. Still pple want to go JP. Heard that the tenant rate @ the upcoming mall in Tampines is not as good as JP.
I was wondering whether you got a grudge against the eastern side. You seem to be always siding with the western side all the time.
There are pros and cons for both west and east side and furthermore singapore is so small, you only take less than 1 hour to drive if you are travelling between tampines and jurong west by car via PIE so what the f**k to be compare of?
There is no such thing as West side is better than the East or the West side is inferior to the West. I suggest those who likes to make such comparsions to walk around Singapore when you are free instead of staying in your own neighbourhood/town and you will know everything is similar.

I know.do u mean that if other tourists or other people see them sitting all over the Interchange unsightly,it is a disgrace to singaporeans?but we cant tell them what to do either.since u said sarcasm and more sarcasm,i thought that u were making fun.

B) SBS9672C -> TransitMedia EDS to Coolair EDS
I Still Think EDS looks nicer (if the black borders are going to remain... lols...)

if u all noticed the stickers(the tips for giving up a seat to needy) at KUB nearside window, it mentioned about the GREEN SEATS. in actual fact, the 4 seats below the stickers are yellow seated.
