i remember it was my fav 0405...there was a time it was perm on 73 AMDEP...i always wanted to zhong that bus..then it went to 105 AMDEP...i still could take it...unfortunately during the 2003 depot transfer...it was sadly transferred to SLBP..i would have preferred it to have been transferred to BRBP eunos service like 154
... 202, 301 and 3873 went from AMDEP 105 to SLBP 105 while 2751, 2752 and 2753 went from SLBP 105 to HGDEP 105...because HG didnt want to take the 0405s...i remembered 161 and 261 were AMDEP 105 before being transferred to BRBP 63...202 still have their dress rims but unfortunately the other 2 have theirs removed ![]()
when i was young, the thing about 161 that caught me was that it had this turbo sound which i really love..whenever it passes by on 105..immediately i know its 161...it still has the turbo sound but the sound isnt as loud and cool as last time..

Nah, not turbo sound, its probably from the exhaust.
Turbo sound is the whistling sound you hear on buses fitted with turbo, it is most clearly heard on Scania N113CRBs, L113CRB/Ls, O.405Gs Batch 1, B7RLE (MK Is and IIs) most of the newer Scania and Volvo coaches.
Nonetheless, it sound nice....probably the only Merc which sound like a TIBS Merc.

how come the tyre of mercedes buses are smaller than volvo and scania buses? ![]()
I do not know why service 74's fllet is in a mess?
Firstly, SBS 7198 T &SBS 7226 X were perm. Leaving behind SBS 9461 U and SBS 9278 H
Then, SBS 9207 M, SBS 9321 R went SP HGDEP.
Now SBS 7198 T & SBS 7226 X again went as SP.
Are they trying to fit in Scania K230B on 74?

Just a simple fleet reduction la. I think all happened at the start of this year. Just that we take a while to find out the movements

low-profile tires for city omnibuses. volvo B10M's are coach chassis and uses higher-profile tyres.
To answer exactly , high profile tires are there for higher speed and better cushion (more air inside bigger tires).
Smaller tires are for lower speed, but better acceleration (lower tire rolling resistance).

Of course of course. Smaller wheels require less torque for the same rotational speed, so better acceleration.
