I would rather they have overnight parking over at Geylang Lor 1. Doesnt it save more money ? It makes more sense as Geylang Lor 1 has the necessary re-fuelling facilities and i'm sure that the carpark can easily fit in 20 - 30 buses.

Lances on 961 & 985 will be damn nice.
985 - Chiong on PIE .
961 - Good for chionging between stops . But theres a slight glitch . Those on Malaysia Lances will have a rough ride at Holland or Farrer park for now, due to the CCL construction. -
985 will have UD running in PIE?

100% of the Scanias in fact were all transferred to WLDEP by June 2000, TIB674M was the last Scania to be transferred if I am not wrong.Originally posted by TIB1049L:Okay, lets go way back in 2003. AMDEP Scanias used to serve services 59 (now under SBST so called service 86), 160 (now 980), 163 (now under SBST), 169, 851, 856 etc. AMDEP side were replaced by Dennis Lance buses whereas Scanias were progressively transferred over to the newly opened WLDEP in 1998-2000.
Still remember TIB665P which was perm on service 160/980 since new during AMDEP days, now still a perm on service 980 under WLDEP
For service 852 case, it was once full control by KJDEP, hence only DAFs were spotted. Service 852 started to have WLDEP Scanias when it came under partial WLDEP in 1998. In 1999 service 852 came under partial AMDEP control where Dennis Lances also came in as well as the remaining Scanias that were under AMDEP. Scanias were permanently withdrawn from service 852 in 2000 when AMDEP got the new UK Dennis Lances and transferred the remaining Scanias out to WLDEP. -

And I think if this happens, they would only deploy Rigids becaus the demand of 859 off-peak is low and it's a waste of resource. That's why they got TIB821E to replace TIB1098 due to waste of resource. An S-shift Bendy perm would do it. -
Please la. I seen TIB977P on 962 countless of times when you said it was SP a month ago. So does it mean that if TIB1181L dissapears and appears on 912 after a month you count it as SP? I mean, it did happen during March when it went MIA and it is still 900/901. That's what I always see, TIB977P not on its perm service always. So, I counted it as a SP because it rotates between different services. Yes, there was once I saw it on 962 in early October. Thursday, the bus cameoed on 700 and during the last week of Sch for Secondary Schools, it was cameoing on 857 or 856. So, I counted it SP with that in mind. And declaring a bus had been redeployed needs a long period of time esp. for SMRT buses as they dun have perm stix. I remember it took me 3 to 4 months before confirming TIB1188T had been redeployed on 911 -
TIB 821 E did not replace TIB 1098 U on sv 859. We can't confirm any redeployments now too. School holiday is the favourite time for bus companies to do PM, plus their deployments are in a HUGE mess (look at Dennis Lance and Volgren Bendies, for example). So, never conclude too early. -

Lances are not totally bad lah. In fact it is when they speed when the shiok-ness of riding a Lance comes in. And most of the time, 961 buses do speed -

But the fact that many of the regulars on S985 are travelling long distance. by putting in a lance means less seats for the pax. This isnt something that the regulars on 985 will like.

The reason are simple.To have more SL travel and experience other Interchanges and to save diesel.Nowadays SL are required to switch off the AC during Off Service.
One more funny thing for AMDEP SLs on these services.
61 have to go to BBT Int to apply leave.
169,965 & 969 to WLD Int.
67 have to go CCK Int.
Last time got 3 Service Management Group(Route Group for SBST),Now left 2,Must change CEO to a man.
I dun think Geylang Lor 1 will be the bus park for these services.Only 2 Nissan and 14 Bus Plus buses are allowed to park there.Come to think of it 7 buses to WLDEP,4 AMDEP buses for 961 and probably 3 for 985,Not much difference.Apart from 853,854,855,804,806,811,812 and a few 859 buses park at Yishun,I think theres still space for the 12m to squeeze in.SMRT depots are like sardine. -

961's case...to AMDEP for 4 duties. let me see. currently, 961 has 23/26/27 buses. take out the not-so-good buses, like TIB642E, TIB768B, TIB831B & TIB431Y, and replace them with some M'sia/UK Lance from SP/852/853/855, hopefully TIB915T, TIB928G, TIB940U & TIB1013P.
for TIB940U and TIB1013P, replacement can b made by KJDEP by using DAF from 985 to replace the 2 buses. as for TIB915T, a merc, probably TIB821E can take over the duty.
now coming to 985. 3 DAFs might b out of 985 fleet, with 2 of them going over to join the fleet of 852. let the other take a rest after such hard work by resting at KJDEP as SP. now, AMDEP's gonna hav tougher work to do by thinking wad buses to deploy onto 985. think...think...think.........and da dang! not merc and not the Lances, the UD! hmm...they will think that the UD aren't bad, therefore, throwing TIB377X, CSS184S and CSS194M into 985's fleet, renaming the 3 UDs' status to 'AMDEP 985'!
